Okay place to stay

Our stay was fine and the unit was accommodating. The pictures of the unit are accurate just minus the wear and tear from past guests. The condo housed the 4 of us just fine and we really liked the 2 bathrooms and 3 bedroom set up. Prior to arrival I messaged the owner asking for instructions to check in. All I was provided was the WiFi code and was told the entry code would be provided on the check in day and time. Fast forward 24 hours, we never received the gate code or the unit entry code. I had to call and message the owner to receive instructions. The first individual I spoke with, spoke Spanish so that was difficult. Then I was passed to another gentleman, that was asking someone else for the information. Then, I checked my VRBO inbox and the property owner messaged me the details at the same time I was on the phone. None of the information I was given was the same, so we had to try all the numbers to see what worked. Finally, after we got inside, we noticed there was old coffee grounds still in the filter and old coffee still in the pot. Then, we found a pile of towels lying in the front entry bedroom on the floor. Automatically, we assumed that none of the linens were washed or changed and neither were the towels, so at 8pm we were doing laundry so that we could sleep on clean sheets and use clean towels to shower with. I did message the property owner with photos and was told she would check with the cleaning lady but that all of the sheets are washed after every stay. This wasn't convincing. We also found all of the washrags waded up and thrown under the kitchen sink and they were crusty, so we popped them into the washer as well. The washer had a wet/mildew/mold smell to it as well. We ended up wearing our shoes/socks the whole time as we walked through the condo because the floors turned our feet black. Basically, our concerns were with the "cleaning lady's" ability to clean the condo. The property owner was friendly when we chatted with her. The unit had nice cold AC which was very refreshing for the RGV summer heat. We didn't really use the pool or other amenities because we were with family that stayed at other locations. Next time, for future guests it would be nice if check in information automatically became available instead of trying to get the information from the owner.
