Deerwood-private, cozy cabin in the woods

Deerwood Cabin is the coziest little spot tucked into the woods just minutes from Mentone and DeSoto State Park. Rustic features with all the modern conveniences. Perfect for two with King bedroom but there's space for a couple more on the futon couch in the living room too! Fully stocked kitchen including mini dishwasher and vintage inspired refrigerator and microwave. Inviting front porch, screened back porch and back deck are all amazing spots to watch the deer that frequently pass thru the yard! Wood burning fireplace, outdoor fire pit and charcoal grill make this the spot to relax, surrounded by nature!
Mentone offers artist & antique shops and restaurants. Nearby activities include golf, DeSoto State Park, Little River Canyon National Preserve, horseback riding, hiking along rivers & waterfalls. Check out our website for additional local info and for direct info to local shops/restaurants and their hours of operation.

This adorable space is also pet friendly with a $65 pet fee. Please note that it does not have a fenced yard, so you will need to bring a leash for walks.

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was well supplied and very clean. The huge mattress was great and the electric blanket was very warming! Well stocked with firewood and charcoal which we enjoyed.

Our lives have been so busy with work, kids, and dogs, that we forgot to focus on romance. This place made it happen. Quiet and Secluded, but accessible. We had a fire inside with our morning coffee. Then an evening bonfire out back with smores. Loved that we got to reconnect.agreat little cabin

Wonderful, isolated cabin in a very quiet area. The cabin floor plan is one of the best we have seen. Watching the deer was a new experience for my wife. She totally loved it.

We loved this adorable little cabin and its surroundings! We were very comfortable and cozy, and were so pleasantly surprised at all the firewood that they had for us! We enjoyed several fires in the fireplace. Everything was wonderful and we would definitely come back!!

This is a beautiful , secluded cabin in the woods. We felt like we were alone in the forest- no neighbors in sight till you walk down to the road. The front porch is unique- mountain theme and the supports are real trees. The backyard has a nice fire ring and nothing but trees in sight. The inside has a country- chic/ retro decor with a large stone fireplace. The kitchen is well- equipped for cooking. The location is near state parks and trails We enjoyed leaf peeping along the Little River Canyon Pky and were amazed by the massive boulder formations in Mentone called The Citadel. For live music, we enjoyed Vintage 1889 Restaurant in Ft Payne Note- local restaurants keep strange hours here and aren’t open 7 days/ week. Plan on grocery shopping in Ft Payne at Food City and Bruce’s Food Land.

A lovely little cabin tucked back in the woods. It was so comfy and had everything we needed. It is close to lots of hiking trails, Little River Canyon, DeSoto National Park and downtown Mentone. Our 2 standard poodles loved running through the woods around the cabin. Our host was very attentive to our needs and questions. I’m looking forward to going back sometime in the future.

Deer Wood was a really lovely stay for our 21st anniversary. It was cozy, quiet, and peaceful. Off the beaten path a ways but also near enough to Mentone restaurants for options. Highly recommend.
