Stylishly restored 1800's historic home- heart of Virginia hunt & wine country!

  • The Atoka House is a beautiful log cabin with the original part dating back to the late 1700's. The home has 2 full bedrooms and sleeps 6 and 2.5 bathrooms. The property is 5 minutes from Middleburg and Upperville, and 10 minutes to The Plains and Marshall.

    When you step through the front door, you are greeted by the original log cabin. There is a guest bedroom on the main floor with a full bath and a bathtub. A washer and dryer are also on the main floor. The kitchen has a coffee bar and all standard kitchen amenities. The kitchen also has access to the wrap around deck with stunning sunset views.

    Upstairs, you will find a warm and cozy family room with original hardwood floors, logs and beams. This room also includes a pull out queen size couch and a 55" smart TV. The primary bedroom has a king bed, incredible views to the west and the bathroom has a large walk-in shower with heated floor.

    Sit and relax on the brand new Trex deck and watch the beautiful sunsets. The house also includes a propane grill and a fire pit.

    The surrounding area is home to many wineries, craft breweries,cideries and tourist destinations including the Appalachian Trail and Shenandoah River/Shenandoah National Park. Piedmont Heritage Museum in Atoka,Sporting Museum in Middleburg,Museum of fox hunting in Middleburg,Middleburg community center and pool,Car shows at Creighton farms,Arboretum, Long Branch,Horse racing,Foxhunting,horse shows and eventing, Balloon festivals, Great Meadows,Polo,Twilight Jumpers,Upperville Horse show,Piedmont point to point etc.

We had the most incredible stay at Atoka House! We were truly blown away by the charm of the cottage, every beautiful detail of the home, and all of the thoughtful touches that made our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. It’s such a special place — we can’t wait to return!

We absolutely loved our stay at the Atoka House! It was very clean and had everything you could think of and more! Most of all, we loved the history of the place and its charming decor and atmosphere! The location was great and we hope to return someday!

Conveniently located to Middleburg and surrounding wineries, breweries and hiking trails. The amenities were spot on and well stocked including a chilled bottle of wine and unopened carton of 1/2 &1/2. More than expected from mosts VRBO properties. The home was charming and dog friendly with a spacious backyard. Highly recommend. Thanks Liz for being a wonderful host!

The property owner Liz was so helpful and gave us the best recommendations! We loved dining at The Red Fox Inn, the Ashby Inn, and Main & Field. We also loved our tour at Lost Mountain Winery! At the Atoka House, we loved the decor , the cozy beds, and the Scrabble game! We also loved sitting outside around the fire pit and at the picnic table. We can’t thank Liz enough for being the best host!

Our son got married at the Middleburg Manor and this home was the perfect size and distance from the venue. The house is full of charm, fully stocked and loved the history that was shared. Liz, the owner was very responsive and left so many special touches in the home to make you feel welcome. The only disappointment was the rain as we could not enjoy the firepit, which was not fault of the owners. We would love to make a return trip someday!

We loved our stay at the Atoka House! The home was lovely with attention to every detail. Fresh updated bathrooms, good linens, well appointed kitchen with everything we needed for our weekend stay. Communication with the hosts was very easy!

The house is very charming with historic appeal yet modern amenities. It’s very close to Middleburg where we spent a lot of time. The owners are friendly and responsive. We had a lovely stay and will be back!

Exceptional living

This place sets the standard for luxurious vacation renting! The decor was stunning and the entire house was carefully curated. We wanted for nothing and the beds were incredibly comfortable. We found paradise on Rectors Lane. Our best VRBO stay ever!

The host was communicative and kind, and the property was beautiful - as advertised! Warm, cozy — blankets and pillows every where. The kitchen space leaves plenty of room, we cooked dinner for five comfortably! Well stocked with essentials, and clean. Backyard is beautiful, fireplace gives you perfect cozy cabin feel. Host went above and beyond to check on us and help us with nearby activities.

Very hospitable hosts!

Very accommodating hosts. Shared info about local area and went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay (which we did!). House is charming and clean. Parking was easy. Very convenient to Middleburg and the wineries.
