A haven for hikers and outdoor enthusiasts, this pretty apartment is quietly nestled at the top of Monte Brè, above Lake Lugano. The newly renovated property sleeps up to 4 guests and enjoys the most incredible views over the Gulf of Lugano along Lake Ceresio to the peaks of Monte Rosa.

This stylish escape is located above the Osteria Funicolare restaurant on the first floor of a three-story 1920s Liberty building. Inside, the property features a bright and airy living room furnished with; a double sofa bed, a dining table and a smart flatscreen TV, with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. This area also incorporates a modern kitchen equipped with; a Nespresso coffee machine, an induction hob, an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave and a fridge freezer. Perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring the apartment enjoys several floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto Juliet balconies flooding the space with natural light.

Immediately opposite guests will find the final stop of the Monte Brè Funicular railway which connects the mountain to the Lugano suburb of Cassarate. The Funicular doesn’t run all day but provides a charming and memorable way to arrive at this gorgeous retreat.

Location

This apartment is conveniently located opposite the final stop of the Monte Brè Funicular railway, above the Osteria Funicolare restaurant. The railway connects visitors to the Lugano suburb of Cassarate (running every 30-minutes) and provides free transfers for guest on presentation of a booking form.

Guests will also find a second restaurant a short walk away (Vetta Restaurant), both venues are happy to provide guests with menu options to consume in the apartment but are only open during the railway\'s operating hours.

The village of Brè, one of the sunniest villages in Ticino, is a 20-minute walk away. Here guests find guests will find a grocery store and two restaurants, Salotto BRÈ Restaurant in the town centre and Grotto Castagneto which is located in the woods. The village of Brè is also known for its artistic furniture with 20 works of art by international artists in the centre of the village. In the church of San Simone and San Fedele, you can admire the frescoes by Joseph Birò, a famous Hungarian artist. Art enthusiasts can also visit the famous museum of the artist Wilhelm Schmid.

The bus n° 12 connects Brè to the centre of Lugano and runs every 30 minutes. You can also reach Tesori Della Vecchia apartments by car, but please note that the car park is an 11-minute walk.

There are also countless possibilities for walks and excursions in the area; the descent to Lugano will take 2 hours, a trek to Monte Boglia 45-minutes, whilst the hiking areas at Gandria is a 20-minute drive and Cureggia a 30-minute drive. It is possible to rent bicycles and e-bikes (at a subsidised rate) from the staff at the funicular, subject to availability.

The nearest airport is Lugano Airport (a 30-minute drive), and the closest international airport is Milan Malpensa, about a 1-hour and 20-minute drive.
