Disappointing property, needs some love
We started our holiday with busy time in major cities. The stay in Lucca was a relaxing end to spend time by the pool hanging out. Overall, we were disappointed with the house, it was not worth the money we paid and we wouldn't recommend.
The property manager, Renata, was an excellent communicator, and was on hand to answer any questions and give advice on day trips etc.
On the plus side, the house is tastefully furnished with plenty of plates and glassware. It was pretty clean, the beds were comfy and towels plentiful. Detracting from this, and major drawbacks were the condition of the kitchen and the bathroom facilities.
The kitchen is extremely tired and needs a complete overhaul. The cabinet doors are sticky and unpleasant to touch from years of grease and dirt that doesn't wash off. The fridge is awful, freezing all food at the back . The dishwasher is not fixed, and moves every time the door is opened. It also doesn't clean well so we had to hand wash everything The espresso machine is hit and miss and leaks everywhere. The house is listed as two bathrooms inc two showers, this is misleading. The main bathroom has the smallest shower I have ever seen, maybe 2 1/2 ft square.The 2nd bathroom has a shower attachment but no screen or fixing, so basically just a bath. As a family of 5, we struggled with the set up. The basement smells musty and was not pleasant to be in. The pool is incredibly deep at the shallow end and there are no umbrellas for shade
