With the Bay of Fundy and its highest tides of the world , the peaceful valley farms, the Minas basin, vineyards and wine tours, and restaurants all within a 30 -45 min drive. Our house is nestled in this community of farmland with gorgeous views of the Minas Basin to wake up too. Make it your headquarters for days filled with hiking, beach walks, wine tours, historical sites, farm markets and a variety of restaurants to eat at.

Bill and Susan were excellent hosts!! this place has unbelievable views of the water! Very quiet and peaceful at night. I saw numerous falling stars. The small town of Canning is close by with an excellent grocery store and meat market for all your needs. There was a provincial campsite and walking trails within a couple of minutes walk from the place. My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay here!

Blomidon return to NS

Quiet and tucked away, we got lots of rest, with short day trips out to local towns. The Lookoff and icecream are a must do. Treat yourself to lunch or dinner in Canning- cute little village.

Great value for our stay. I’ve attached pictures as the listing doesn’t reflect the furnishings currently. I was pleasantly surprised when we got there to see how nicely decorated it was compared to pictures! Nice walk in shower which my disabled mother was very happy with. Main bed was comfy. Host was kind and responsive! My daughter loved seeing the cows every morning! Only a few mild things that could have made the stay a little better - A small ac window unit would have been nice as it was quite humid during our stay, we tend to run hot and even with the fans and windows open at night I still found it quite warm. The kitchen is missing coffee mugs & a can opener (my young daughter had a meltdown she couldn’t have soup 😂) The twin beds could use a revamp (fine for kids but for me as an adult it wasn’t the comfiest). These are just mild things and didn’t impact our stay too much and weren’t a deal breaker at all for the price / cleanliness of the rental! Overall an amazing stay!!

Cottage in Canning

We loved the area and were able to fit in day trips to Tatamagouche and Peggy’s Cove from the cottage. It was also convenient for taking the ferry from Digby on our way home to Ontario. Would use the cottage again.

Just what we needed

Our family loved the Blomidon view, the bay breeze, the quiet calm, and the neighbourly cows who were pastured next door. The facilities were just what we needed for a comfortable stay.and included great cooking and laundry facilities and wifi for our teen. We were especially appreciative to the wonderful host who was so kind and gracious when the biggest floods in the province shut down the province for a day. I highly recommend this wonderful property.

Pastoral countryside

This is the quintessential bucolic get away far from the madding crowd. If you want a quiet escape, this is it. the kitchen was very well equipped. The big window overlooks the Minas Basin and we experienced a beautiful sunset after a rainy day. And yes, the rest of the windows allowed us to keep track of the cows in the next door pasture. We enjoyed our stay.

Lovely Stay

Lovely stay close to Blomidon beach and Cape Split. Would recommend this spot to anyone who wants to check out Wolfville and the surrounding area. Susan was responsive and kind throughout our stay! Loved seeing the cows and deer wander by outside. Couch could use an update as it is quite uncomfortable.

Überragende Gastfreundschaft und Unterstützung

Unser Aufenthalt in Lower Blomidon stand unter keinem guten Stern. Denn wir beide erkrankten in den ersten Tagen an Covid19. Dank der unermüdlichen und umfassenden Gastfreundschaft und Hilfsbereitschaft von Sysan Lyons wurde der Aufenthalt in dem bequemen und komfortablen Ferienhaus in einmalig schöner Lage mit Blick auf die Bay of Fundy aber doch noch zu einem wirklich unvergesslichen Erlebnis.

Amazing location

Amazing location, stunning views. Couch to be replaced. Cleanliness to be worked on as floors dirty and lots of cobwebs.Mouse came to visit/easy fix from host. Great communication from host. Furniture in pictures is not what's in house. Amazing price point!
