Overholser Lodge Stay

The lodge was fantastic and beyond 5 stars clean. Susie was always ready to respond to questions that came up. Great location, so much to do at the lodge itself and surrounding area.

We had 10 people from our family stay here. It was a perfect setup for people of all ages. Amazing place and communication by owners.

Perfect for a family reunion

Two grandparents five adult children with spouses and 11 grandchildren enjoyed the property. Every amenity was excellent and everyone enjoyed each of the 7 days.

Making memories

This home is amazing. The amenities are over the top. Lots of space to gather as a group or find a quiet spot to enjoy the view of the lake. Susie & Del thought of everything to make your stay memorable and are so easy to work with. On a scale of 1-5, we give them a 10!

Perfect for Writing Retreat

We gathered for a writing retreat and found this space to be perfect for sleeping 19. The theatre, tower, deck, and multiple living room areas were excellent for gathering. We were astounded by the natural beauty and architectural details. It felt elegant, yet relaxing. The kitchen space was perfect for prepping large meals. The grill, fire pit, and hot tub were wonderful additions. Plus, watching the sun set from the dock was perfect.

Three generation family celebration. The lodge is spacious and accomodated all age groups. We commented that after three days we hadn't seen anyone on their cell phones or ipads. Wish we hadn't over thought what we might need to bring other than clothes. The lodge had everything that we might have needed

Great place for a large group

This property was great for our large group. We had a mix of adults and kids. There was plenty of room for us to separate and come together. Communication with Susie was awesome. We would love to go back.

Memories 2024

This is the 4th summer we've enjoyed our family vacation at this amazing home! It includes every amenity imaginable. Susie is a delight to work with. On a scale of 1 to 10, we give it an 11.

One of the moat amazing properties we have stayed at in 10 years of family vacations! Each year is a different destination. We have 15 in our family counting kids, grandkids and spouses! Room for all and we enjoyed dinner together each night at a very large table. The tower and theatre were amazing, fun and memorable. We had a pontoon all all week and it fit the lodges boat lift. Fun fishing and great fire pit area. Spectacular sunsets. Every room and outdoor area was exceptional. Hard to fault anything. The closest thing is the steep trip down the path from the lodge to the boat dock for fishing and water activities. That’s mothers natures fault as the lodge is up high and it’s a long trail down, the kids and grandkids did fine, the grandparents didn’t because we loved the lodge and all its amenities, PS The owners wear very nice and helpful.

The best of the best.

Susie and del are incredible hosts. This is their treasured family cabin and it shows. It is huge and easily accommodated a large group. Stairs are steep down to the water (which can be windy and choppy), but I personally love the built in exercise of going cabin to dock. Also, the height of the cabin off the water keeps the bugs at bay so evenings at the hot tub or bonfire are less pesky. This is an incredible place and I plan to come back over and over. Susie is very responsive and helpful on even the smallest of asks.

Family vacation 2023

This was one of the nicest resorts we have ever stayed. With all the various ages of our family there was something for everyone to do. Especially enjoyed the pool table. Played that a lot. Quite a trek from the lodge to the dock but was doable. Plus side of that was the good exercise. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Great stay

Property was super well maintained and cleaned. All the furniture was in good to excellent shape so there were no issues with broken beds or anything like that. We stayed with around 20 people, several kids which worked well. The bunk bed room was put to good use and most slept in there. Kitchen was well stocked with silverware and pots and pans and cooking utensils. I do not think we had to bring or purchase any additional equipment in order to cook. Once I get all the rest of the family to agree on a date for next time we will try to book again.

Check-in was flawless including a request to enter an hour prior to formal check-in so that we could facilitate the rental boat delivery. Kitchen was great. Sound system, entertainment area in the basement, dock facilities ... all fantastic. We had a couple of unique challenges that were addressed by the Owner with urgency and completed. Kitchen drains stopped up completely ... from the analysis from years of buildup. Hot tub overflowed and seals were not in place ... from advanced rain and forced a fault protection that required an electrician to replace and reset. Rock pile out 40 feet from the dock ... rock bass, small mouth bass under the dock (5 pounder caught). Great escape for a large group.
Bonus for two days of rain was we could use the fire pit!

A slice of Heaven on the Lake

This is a perfect cabin getaway. There was 16 of us for a travel agent Retreat. We had plenty of room. We were all impressed by the million dollar view of Woman Lake! The property is immaculate. The details in the cabin were well thought out. The theater room that seats 18 was a perfect place to end the evening each night! We didn’t have kids with us but the 10 person bunk bed room is awesome if you’re traveling with children. I’m already telling my husband and grandkids about the stay. We definitely will return in the summer to enjoy all the summer fun the cabin can offer! You will not be disappointed! Communication with owners was fast and the Welcome letter has all the details you need so please read!!

A spectacular Log cabin lodge on Woman Lake

The was our biannual family reunion for our family who live across the country. There is no issue of where to sleep given the size of this lodge. It is one of the most beautiful log properties I have ever stayed in. The design attributes are beautifully designed. For activities they have a game room with pool, jukebox, and foose ball This entertained the kids with games and the lake helping the cousin from across the country bond together. It has an actual theater that seats 16. Outside with a hot tub, and games like ping pong or Corn hole, and lots of seating on the decks to hang out including a fire pit The owner was very cooperative All of the family enjoyed the 5000 acre Woman lake as re rented a pontoon boat and jet ski. This was a great experience for the whole family Only downside was it is about 3 hour drive from MSP to get there.

Wonderful stay!

Our family stayed at this wonderful home during Thanksgiving week. It was my husband and me, our three adult children and their families - 8 adults and 6 children aged 3-8. It was great for each family to have their own space as well as plenty of larger spaces for all of us to gather. Our family of 14 does these trips regularly, and one thing that has often been a problem is limited frig/freezer space. This house was awesome in that regard. It was especially appreciated since there are no grocery stores close by. There were spices/seasonings available, but we brought all the ingredients for all the things we were making. Also really appreciated the double convection ovens, plenty of dishes and glassware, plenty of baking dishes, etc. With wonderful weather, everyone enjoyed exploring the woods, hiking, and cross country skiing. The movie theater was a very big hit with both kids and adults!
