This just may be the most spectacular home in Schaffer's Mill – including the HGTV Dream Home. The more than 3,500 square feet of mountain modern finishes are the perfect blend of contemporary and comfortable, and the location set against the forest is unmatched. Whether you're coming for ski, golf, lake, or just a weekend away, there is not another home as well set up as this. From the hot tub to the game room to fire pit, bar, and access to private club amenities, this is the place to be!

Timeless mountain modern design, this dream home is fully furnished and ready for your enjoyment! This home features 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms, plus a large rec room with a pool table and lounge area. On the main level boasts the Primary Suite with a California King Bed, fireplace, spa-level bathroom with separate tub and steam shower, and a walk-out patio to hot tub offering stunning nature views. Adjacent to the Primary Suite is another guest bedroom with a California King Bed, ensuite bathroom, and plenty of space to relax. Upstairs offers two additional bedrooms: a Queen Bed with adjoining bathroom to the loft area; 4th bedroom features a Queen Bed (with 2 additional twin single beds suspended above) and ensuite bathroom.

PLACER COUNTY STR ORDINANCE: Placer County requires we inform you of the rules and regulations relevant to your home's Short Term Rental Permit. These policies are strictly enforced and fines from the county ranging from $1,500 - $5,000 can be issued to guests for each violation.

PARKING: All cars must be parked in the garage and/or driveway. Parking on the street is prohibited at all times.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY: There shall be no gatherings, events, weddings or other group functions on the Premises with more people than the number of persons stated on the Agreement.

QUIET HOURS: (9PM – 8AM) No sound from the vacation rental home shall be audible from the parcel line during this time. Noise shall be minimized in order that it not be an unreasonable annoyance, disturbance or nuisance to neighbors.

LIGHTS OUT: All exterior lights that are not needed for safety or other outdoor use to the extent that such other outdoor use is not an unreasonable nuisance to neighbors must be turned off between the hours of 10pm-7am, seven days a week.

RED FLAG WARNINGS: Due to extreme wildfire danger all outdoor wood or charcoal burning is prohibited, including open wood burn pits, bonfires, campfires, and charcoal grills. Do not bring personnel grills or portable fireplaces. When a National Weather Service Red Flag Warning is in effect for the geographical area where the short-term rental is located, all sources of outdoor open flame (including gas/propane/pellet BBQs) are prohibited. It is your responsibility to be informed of Red Flag Warnings. You will see signs on the front of all fire district stations, hear about it on the news, see it on social media and hear about it on the radio.

TRASH: Please keep our bears safe by properly storing and disposing of trash. Do not leave food unattended in your cars our outside for any reason. Trash should be disposed of in the bear-proof trash receptacles located within the properties garage.

Fabulous place & customer experience

This stunning vacation home cabin offers the epitome of opulence and extravagance, and is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I was with a group of friends skiing in Lake Tahoe and half of the party had never been to Lake Tahoe before, so this was their first time experiencing the area. Needless to say, it will be extremely hard for any of us to ever experience better than this home. The open-concept living area is spacious and inviting, with soaring ceilings and a cozy fireplace, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of adventure. The bedrooms are equally impressive, with plush beds and linens that will ensure a restful night's sleep. The bathrooms are spacious and immaculate, with all the amenities you could possibly need. The hot tub was pre heated when we got there and the game room was incredible. But I will say the highlight of the trip was the customer service we were afforded while staying at our place. A slight emergency happened to one of our cars while we were staying at the property and the staff here (Barb specifically) were EXTREMELY kind and thoughtful in helping us while we were here. Without question, she was ready to help however we could. Not only is the home perfect, but you will certainly be taken care of in so many different ways. We will be back soon!

Gorgeous mountain escape

The home was beautifully designed and decorated. The layout worked very well for multiple families with little ones. The entire home is “wired” - electronic shades, lighting, and a robust sound system were so cool! We enjoyed the outdoor space and community amenities!

This property truly is a modern mansion. The location is perfect and the house itself is gorgeous and modern with tons of room. The kitchen came stocked with all the appliances and tools you could ask for, the grill was perfect for cooking for a group, and the hot tub was the perfect end to a long day. You won’t be disappointed!

Amazing House!

The house was beautiful! Loved the open feel and layout of the separated rooms for a little extra privacy. A plus that each room had its own bathroom. Perfect getaway home for a multi-family trip. We appreciated that the house was fully equipped with kitchenware since we cooked most meals at home and baked cookies with the kids. Plenty of towels, paper towels, and sleds for snow play. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. We hope to come back some day!

Everything and then some

This place was fantastic. The home is a smart home and very well maintained. The listing description does not really do it justice. We loved our stay there and will use again next time we visit Truckee. Really was better than we had expected. Highly recommend it.

Beautiful home!

We stayed here for a girls weekend and it was perfect. The property is gorgeous and the location is beautiful! We enjoyed the hot tub and the layout of the home. A few things we recommend for the property managers- the steam shower in the master bath is broken. When renting a house for that cost please make sure all of the “bells and whistles” are properly functioning. The ladders for the bunks should be close to the wall so they don’t sit in the middle of the walking area for the center bed. The coffee mugs in the home are tiny and hold maybe two sips of coffee- we recommend sizing up. One last item- bring your own toilet paper on your stay because the TP in the house is the cheap stuff and doesn’t feel great- seems odd for a luxury rental with so many great amenities. The perks- the property is stunning and high tech. The auto blinds were so wonderful to have. The layout of the house is nice for multiple families to have some privacy. The art in the home is beautiful and tasteful. Bed were pretty comfy! The neighborhood was gorgeous. All in all we plan to rent this home again when it’s snowing and we can see how beautiful it is in the winter! Thanks for a beautiful stay!

Lovely house with plenty of space

We think the home itself is beautiful, but the property management company might not be doing the best job. We arrived at the house at 4pm and still didn't have any communication regarding the code to the lock box. There was someone at the house checking it over when arrived and they just handed us some keys. The next day we got the code for the lock box when we asked for it. Trash had not been dumped and the closet it is kept in was 3/4 full. We mentioned it and they said they would take care of it when we left. We had a few maintenance issues that they also said they would handle after we left. That seemed strange. My husband just fixed the shower handles and the leak under the sink himself. There are plenty of towels and sheets, which is nice plus, an entire cabinet filled with toilet paper, paper towels, and tissues. There are only four wine glasses, kind of hard with 8 adults. The coffee cups are also a little odd because they are so small and there are very few of them. Other than that the kitchen is nicely appointed. Fans in many of the closets are a nice touch because we did not see that the house had air conditioning. The community pool is very nice. It would also be nice if the white chairs in the dining room were cleaned, they were very stained. The owner has done a nice job with the house overall, I just wonder if he even knows about the little things the property management company should be keeping up with.

Beautiful Shaffers Mill home

Incredible Shaffers Mill home with plenty of room for our party of 3 adults and 3 children. Super modern and high tech, this home is comfortable and spacious. The hot tub was perfect after a day of skiing at Northstar- a short 8 min car ride aways. The master suite is on its own wing, making it extra private and comfortable. Especially gratefully to be able to bring my dog to this pet friendly property! We will be back !

Absolutely gorgeous home in Schaffer’s Mill. Perfectly well-appointed vacation home for my husband and I, our two children and my parents. Plenty of room with all the comforts. We especially enjoyed the hot tub, game room and making s’mores by the fire pit at night. Five stars!

Great getaway

This was a perfect house for our group (2 adults and 3 teens) - the kids were able to spend the week doing distance learning with plenty of space to spread out, and we loved the pool table, hot tub, and comfy couches during our work/school downtime. House was clean and sanitized when we arrived. We would absolutely rent this house again and look forward to coming back to Schaeffer’s Mill soon.

What a gorgeous home!

We came to Truckee in February with the (realistic, I thought) expectation that there would be mounds of snow to play in... and it was 60 degrees and sunny. I was disappointed the whole ride up, but then we got here and explored this home and were thrilled with our choice! The kitchen is very well appointed (I'm a chef, owner of two restaurants). The push button fireplaces in the Great Room and Master Bedroom were lovely, the Sonos system ROCKS, and the neighborhood is so quiet and calm that our three kids (ages 7, 9, 10) were able to be outside by themselves riding bikes and exploring most of the day. For SF kids that's a real treat. Linens were top notch, and they truly stocked the place (often there's one roll of toilet paper, one roll of paper towels, 2 TB of dish soap, etc), so we didn't need to buy all the basics to stay here four nights. The heat is all radiant floor heating, which feels wonderful on your feet and is much less drying than forced air heat- nice since your body is already adjusting to 7,000 feet in altitude. In case the owner is reading this, your lower oven runs about 50 degrees cool and the wine fridge doesn't seal due to a piece of molding that's a little too big on the side- as a home owner, I like to know that stuff. But MAN, what a beautiful job you've done here! Thanks for letting us stay!
