Casa das Conchas

Casa das Conchas, a hidden gem situated in the heart of Carvoeiro, is a tastefully refurbished fisherman's cottage. This well-appointed property is only 200 metres from the beach and central square of Carvoeiro and is close to all amenities including a wide selection of restaurants and bars.



By way of a charming tiled porch, you enter the house into the bright and spacious dining room from where there is a view of the ocean. Then, via a wide stairway of three steps you enter the comfortable living area with wood-burning fire and adjacent open kitchen equipped with all modern appliances. The house offers two en-suite bedrooms: One has 2 single beds and the other bedroom has a queen sized double bed. Both bedrooms have good sized wardrobes. Both bathrooms are equipped with a shower, and one also has a bath. Through the back door you enter into the charming courtyard. A calming and relaxing space with table, 4 chairs and an electric awning to give shade when the sun is overhead. It is an ideal place for alfresco dining. It has a fixed coal barbecue. From here you can access a separate laundry room equipped with washing machine and dryer. A tiled stairway leads up to the spacious roof terrace which is bathed in sunshine from early morning until the sun goes down. From here you can enjoy fantastic views over Carvoeiro, and one of the best views of the ocean to be found anywhere in the village. The view is spectacular and the terrace is a perfect spot to enjoy a cool drink while watching the stunning sunsets.



There is a TV with many international channels including Dutch, English, French and German. Fibre Wi-Fi is also provided. There is an aircon/heater in the living room as well as in the double bedroom. There are additional heaters and a log-burning fire available to keep you cosy for the cooler months.

Beautiful location and well equipped villa. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants, pubs and shops. Close walk to the beach but the beach is very small. Rooms were clean upon arrival but tired looking and beds are not comfortable. Parking is challenging on the hill not always available. If you need quiet for sleeping, the twin is close to the road and the adjacent Karaoke bar doesn't close until 4am and is loud. Overall our stay was amazing and travelled around the Algarve area as there is so much beauty to discover and lots of hidden gem restaurants to enjoy!

Wonderful spot just above town

We loved our stay! The apartment was comfortable and well equipped and the patio and roof deck were beautiful! The location is perfect— 3 minute walk into town and 5 to the beach! And also possible to park nearby as well!! The hosts were super accommodating and communicative as well. We would definitely recommend this spot and return if ever in Carvoiero again! Our only complaint would be that they didn’t provide more than one trash bag for a five day stay. Similarly there was no soap for the shower. As long as you feel okay providing for yourself after a few days, this is an amazing place!

Great Location with some noise

Overall the property is spacious, well stocked and in a perfect location. Also games and tourist books were appreciated It was a great place to be and we enjoyed it. The view from terrace exceptional. It felt very much like home.There are a few things to consider:1. There is a very loud karaoke bar a few streets below, and it does effect sleeping in front bedroom. My kids decided to check out the bar and they estimate the decibel level at 110. 2. The fireplace does not have a flapper so smoke smell blows down the chimney into living area. We fixed this be bending cardboard over the vents above and below the firebox.3. The wonderful soft and fluffy towels are replaced every 3-4 days, as is the bedding. A great perk, but we were surprised that the garbage wasn't removed at that time.4. Very much appreciated having laundry available. The dryer works well on 1/4 loads but stops working if over a 1/2 load. For most part we used air drying.

Vacationing in the Algarve.

The location of the property is wonderful. Close to the beach, restaurants and shopping. But a few minutes away from the busy downtown area on a quiet street. The roof top deck has a lovely view of the beach and the accommodations were great. We would definitely stay here again. John was a great resource for all we needed and very responsive.

Carvoeiro Beauty

This wonderful, spacious apartment is so conveniently located with only a short walk to the beach, lots of shops and the spectacular boardwalk overlooking the Mediterranean. It is well kept and kitchen is well stocked. It’s bright and the delightful courtyard patio is cozy and provides shade when the rooftop area is too sunny. We spent several evenings watching the sunset from the rooftop! Thank you to to Rocha Rentals who were great to communicate with through the whole process. A gem of a place in a beautiful little town!

Great apartment

Lovely 2 bedroom simple house with great flat roof area for sun bathing, chilling and watching the sunset. Good contact with property management throughout, who were very helpful. The courtyard was a bit dusty and we couldn’t find a dustpan but we had a great time and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Plenty of dining and socialising options very close by

Perfect Location

We enjoyed our stay at this wonderful cottage. The location was perfect to access downtown and walk to a variety of restaurants and shopping. Maison de pêcheur

Belle maison. Tout ce qu’il faut dans la cuisine et beaux meubles de salon et salle à manger. Pas de climatisation dans la petite chambre et lits jumeaux très étroits. Oreillers inconfortables, trop dures. Pas de drap dans les lits seulement une couette dans son étui et un drap contour mais propres. Ce qui nous a surtout déçues c’est la difficulté à se stationner sur la rue en pente, pas d’espace dédiée pour la voiture, on doit stationner sur le trottoir.Personne pour nous accueillir, on récupère la clef dans une boîte à code de sécurité. Toutefois beaucoup d’informations nous ont été transmises via un site.

We had a really nice stay in Carvoeiro. The location is perfect to enjoy the city and go to the beach. Also the house is well equipped and the rooftop amazing. John has been really available during all our stay. Just hope we can come back someday.

Just left and ready to return

The house is in a perfect location, with a quick walk into town, to the beach, to shops and restaurants. It is on a hill, so a bit of a climb back to it but after a few days I barely noticed it. We brought a car and found street parking easily. John, the property manager was helpful, responsive, and had a great attitude. Really, he was terrific. It was a clean, comfortable and decently equipped house. Maybe would have been nice to have a few more basic food items in the kitchen, like oil and vinegar, but that was a tiny thing. Now that I have said that, let me really tell you about our stay: We drove in from Lisbon, unloaded and my husband hit the couch with a migraine. I bounced from rooftop to courtyard to front porch yelling ‘look at this’ and ‘oh my goodness it’s gorgeous’ over and over until I finally took pity on him and ran down the hill into town and explored. Every morning I would do the walk to a bakery and pick up bread and a treat, we would read up on the terrace (other than three cold and rainy days), wander through the many trails that are close by, sit on the beach, and either cook a simple meal or enjoy a different restaurant. It was a magical place and I highly recommend it.

Very comfortable - even in winter

The Casa is well equipped and comfortable also during the winter months. With the mild Portuguese winter, we even made ample use of the rooftop terrace and enjoyed the quiet as well as the lovely views. The accommodation is spacious enough for four people. Centrally located in the village. An amazing coastal walk makes Carvoeiro an attractive holiday location also for hikers. Finding parking was no problem (December / January). Very friendly contact with the agency. They were quick to reply to any questions and proactively provide information about the Casa and the environment, which helped to make our stay even more enjoyable.

Schöner Urlaub im Casa das Conchas

Die Kommunikation mit der Agentur (John & Susan) war bei der Buchung sowie vor Ort hervorragend. Das guidebook (App) war informativ und hilfreich. Check-in war mit dem key-safe unkompliziert. Ein kleines Problem im Haus wurde umgehend und zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit gelöst. Das Haus bietet viel Platz und ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Außerdem war es sehr sauber und gepflegt. Die Lage ist sehr zentral. Man erreicht in wenigen Fußminuten Strand und Innenstadt (mit Bars, Restaurants und kleinen Shops). Der Strand vor Ort war uns persönlich zu überlaufen und zu unserer Zeit zu algig gewesen, sodass wir mit dem Mietwagen an diverse Strände/Buchten in der Nähe gefahren sind. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und hatten eine schöne Zeit!

Fantastic

The property was very spacious & well maintained, with a charming little private courtyard with a BBQ to spend the evenings sipping wine & eating. Having a separate bathroom for both bedrooms was handy. Brilliant location & very close proximity to the town center / beach / shops / restaurants. John was also extremely helpful.
