Couples getaway

Great property. Access to water easy to get to xompared to some properties in the area. Communication with owners was timely and easy as they live adjacent to place. Plenty of space for our party of 6 plus 2 dogs. We loved that they were pet friendly. Beds are too hard for my liking. Very clean. Kitchen had great cooking essentials. Fire pit and grill was wonderful.

Cozy cottage feel

It was a great stay. The hosts were very nice and accommodating. Greated us upon arrival. We did have a small issue that was not very upsetting to us at all, but they stopped by anyways and talked to us about it and were very friendly. House had just about everything we needed. Thank you!

Incredible Retreat

Rave reviews for this property! My wife & I, along with our teen daughter and 2 of her friends, visited over a long Fall weekend. The house is fantastic - very nicely updated, extremely well appointed with anything we needed (well-stocked kitchen w/ coffee, plenty of linens/towels, comfortable beds & furniture, etc), awesome layout allowing the girls to have a separate living area downstairs to hang out while my wife and I were on the main level w/ our dogs (pet-friendly… huge plus!). Outdoors was even BETTER - amazing views & access to the lake, plenty of seating along the lakefront (deck, gazebo) to relax and rejuvenate, outdoor games on-the-ready (cornhole, etc), and an excellent fire pit. Close to food, not terribly far from town. This was EXACTLY what we were looking for and needed. The hosts live next door - they were kind, and helpful. We will be back!

Well Appointed Rental

This place is great. Hosts have taken care of all the necessities. Appreciated all the thoughtfulness that went into stocking the house so you’re not left running to the store for every little thing. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Excellent location too!

Awesome Lake House!

We stayed for a week and loved our entire stay! We rented a boat for a few days and did a lot of fishing. The property is beautiful and quiet, we would love to stay again!

Great place to relax

There were multiple outdoor tables to hangout around. Downstairs was like a bedroom suite. Neighbor is the owner so they are there for whatever you need but they definitely kept their distance so you could enjoy your stay. Kitchen was fully stocked. Multiple plate sets, multiple pots and pans.

This home had plenty of room for us (4 adults, 3 kids). Beautiful view of the river & great fishing off the dock. Home was very clean & the owners we’re very responsive to any questions we had. Can’t say enough good things. We enjoyed our stay very much!

We will be back!

Honestly a gorgeous getaway. Owner Bob was super nice! He has a couple other cottages and lodge on the property he is working on a let us take a look. He does awesome work. The backyard is awesome. Great for yard games and fires and enjoying the deck. Lots of water access for fishing! Inside they were very thoughtful having anything we would need including dog towels and bowls and cooking items! We highly recommend!

Lovely cottage for weekend getaway

What a charming little lakeside cottage! We planned a weekend getaway with another couple, and this house was perfect. Everything was clean and the owners are very thoughtful. Every light switch was labeled, plenty of linens, and easy to find instructions. We rented a boat on the lake and had a great time. We hope to stay here again next year.

Short family get away

We totally enjoyed our short stay at this waterfront property. It’s clean and well maintained with a beautiful view of the Tippecanoe River. This property had plenty of room to accommodate our family of 6. The beds are very comfortable as well as the furniture throughout the house. The only suggestion I would make would be to add a sound bar to the tv on the main level and add a Xfi pod Wi-Fi range extender which will help the reception on the tv in the lower level which kept giving message of low Wi-Fi connection. We would definitely consider renting this property again in the future.

Would stay again

The house was very nice and looked pretty much like the pictures just slightly smaller. There was a lot of wasps in the area. The beds were fine to me but a couple of my family members said the beds were hard. But overall we had a great time. Would stay again but being your own pillows.

Monticello

I wish I could give this a 5 star. I do not like leaving negative reviews, but I am an honest person and would want to know all that I can about renting a vacation spot online. The pictures on the website are a bit deceiving. While the home was clean on the inside, the outside could have really used a good power-washing along with the garage, which sits right in front of the home and front porch. There was a lot spider webs, and insects on the outside of the home, garage, and on the inside of the windows. I understand this is on the water, and insects are abundant, but we couldn't open the kitchen windows due to the insects on the window seals & screens. The drive into the property is overgrown, along with a lot of overgrowth on the side of the deck & in back of the home. With a little clearing you could have a great view of the water. It is a quiet setting but we were there in October and it rained every day. Bring a flash light, power went out due to a storm, and there are not any in the home. There is a musty smell inside the home, if you have allergies as we do, this could be a problem. There isn't a lot to do or see in Monticello, unless you are on the water.. If the weather had been a bit better, it probably would have been ok. The home is clean, other than the outside and the windows. ..but I agree with a previous review, a lot of money for a small place.? There are two finished levels to the home which made it nice for 2 couples. Adequate furnishings, but cramped space in the living room & dining room/Kitchen. Bedrooms are good size. Again, I wish I could leave a 5 star review, but this is my honest opinion along with our other guests.
