North Kihei puts Maalaea Harbor in one direction and the cafés and beach parks of South Kihei in the other. Guests at Sugar Beach Resort enjoy access to the shared communal pool, hot tub, and BBQ grills right along the shore in Kihei. The building offers an elevator, disabled parking spot, and accessible-height features for easy access. Beach access and landscaped grounds with a garden round out the on-site amenities.



The Neighborhood:

Sugar Beach sits along North Kihei’s broad, quieter shoreline, where a long beach walk can be the whole morning plan. Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge offers a worthwhile change from the sand, and Maalaea Harbor is a natural starting point for time on the water or a visit to Maui Ocean Center. When the group wants more restaurant choices or a beach-park afternoon, South Kihei and Kamaole Beach Park III are an easy drive. It is a useful South Maui location for mixing lazy beach days with a few planned outings.



Getting Around:

Kahului Airport is about 20 to 30 minutes away, an easy drive down Maui's sunny south shore. A rental car is recommended to make the most of Kihei's many beaches, shops, and restaurants spread along the coast. Some stretches near South Kihei Road are walkable to dining and shopping, while beaches are often just minutes away. Parking is typically available on site, in lots, or along nearby streets.
