Penthouse Condo with Rooftop Deck & Village Views, Short Walk to Base/Gondola

This spacious 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom penthouse, corner unit condo sleeps 8 with one king bed, one queen bed, two twin beds and one queen sleeper sofa. It features a updated private rooftop balcony overlooking River Run Village with slope views in the distance. Updated kitchen, private laundry and high quality linens throughout. Top floor, corner unit location ensures a quiet stay. Ideally located in River Run Village so you’re just steps away from shopping, restaurants and local festivities. Plus, you're a very short walk from the high-speed gondola. Buffalo Lodge offers shared amenities including 2 hot tubs.

The entryway has mounted hooks and a bench for your convenience while coming and going throughout the day. The living area features a flat screen TV mounted above a beautiful stone gas fireplace and a queen-sized sleeper sofa. Extra linens are in a closet. Just off the living area enjoy your spacious rooftop balcony featuring gorgeous views of River Run Village and the slopes in the distance. New outdoor furnishings and deck remodel completed in the Summer of 2022.

The full-sized kitchen is stocked with all the essential cookware and tableware to make a meal away from home and features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The dining area comfortably seats six around a beautiful wood table and there are four additional seats at the breakfast bar. There is a stacked washer and dryer and for your convenience laundry detergent is provided. The first of three bathrooms is just off the living area and has a pedestal sink and a large walk-in shower with tile surround. All bathrooms are stocked with towels and an initial supply of toiletries.

The primary suite features a king-sized bed on our Ivory White Bedding program and a flat screen TV. The en suite bathroom has a single sink vanity with granite countertops and a shower/jetted tub combination with modern tile surround. The first guest bedroom has two twin-sized beds on our Ivory White Bedding program and a flat screen TV. The en suite bathroom has a single sink vanity with granite countertops and a shower/tub combination with tile surround. The second guest bedroom features a queen-sized bed on our Ivory White Bedding program and a flat screen TV. It has its own private entrance to the guest bathroom.

From the homeowner: "We commissioned a stained glass artist to create two deer for our front door at our other home. When they asked us what we wanted the deer to look like we asked them to just check the artwork from Disney's Bambi. The artwork next to the fireplace is a one-of-a-kind piece taken from the stained glass doors."

Liked our stay. We 3 adults and 2 children, 10 and 9. Well stocked. The only item that was an irritation is the front door coat hanger - we played the game ‘whose coat will be first on the floor’

While I wanted to give a better review, I couldn’t. First, the checkin should be at the lodge. The checkin location is hard to find and not signed. It would be easy to put an lockbox on property. When we got there, we offloaded everything on a luggage cart only to find out the Elevator to garage didn’t work. We had to wheel it outside and to the side in the snow. Not fun.When we got to the place, we were disappointed by how small it was. Pictures make it look big. The deck outside was filthy with a cup with cigarrette butts in it.The listing was not accurate and made it seem like there was a pool on property. That is not the case. You have to go outside to a sister property. The building itself feels old and dilapidated. Jacuzzis were warm but dirty. Proximity to slopes is nice and you can’t go wrong staying in Keystone. Overall, for the money, I would expect higher quality finishing as, building conditions and easier check in.

We loved this little village especially having 3 little kids! Gave us all enough room! Only thing being a first timer in Colorado is I didn’t know September was the slowest month so a lot of places were closed! We did however love the two parks & the crepe stand! We even ventured out of the village a lot! The top of the mountain was beautiful l! The whole reason why we rented in Buffalo lodge was because we had a wedding to go to that was at the top of the mountain! We will definitely be back & we were all sad to leave!

We had a wonderful stay here and enjoyed the views and all the space. Only think I would say is there NEEDS to be black out curtains as the sun radiates in early morning if you have kids or want to sleep in, this will not be a good spot to do so. The view and terrace is amazing and you are right in the center of everything. We would come back, but probably bring something to cover the windows so we can sleep in till 8am.

My family of 5 really enjoyed our stay at this property. The check in process required a brief stop a lock box to pick up the room keys and from there it was only a short drive to the condo. I did read some reviews that the property was a little dated and this is in fact true. That being said it did not diminish our enjoyment of this property. The location right in the village is perfect. It was an easy walk to the lifts, and we enjoyed the many dining options in the village. There is even a small convenience store that although pricey worked well for last minute items. From this location it was an easy 25 minute drive over to Breck for dinner one evening. We also drove 45 minutes to Vail for lunch one day. If you wanted to ski at either location the trek there and back is not bad at all. I would highly recommend this condo and would stay again in the future.

We enjoyed everything about this condo. It was perfect for our family. Very clean. Had plenty of towels and supplies. We loved the big patio. Loved being able to walk to the slopes and shops and restaurants. We will probably stay here again.

The location is great and we had a fabulous time in the village. However, several items were damaged or broken including a missing kitchen cabinet door, two were crooked and off track. There was feces and urine on the patio so we never used patio which was a main reason for booking this particular place. Dining room light could not be used because it flickered constantly. No DVD player in family so we could not watch movies we brought. Bedroom dvd players can’t be connected in family room. Kitchen should have a cutting board. Family room carpet rolling up which was a tripping hazard. Closets were filled with extra lamps, furniture etc which took up nearly half the closet space. Humidifiers were moldy and required extensive cleaning before use. Too much furniture in family room. End tables stacked up and hard to maneuver through furniture because room was so crowded. Happy to provide pictures of any of these issues. Each individual issue on its own would not have been a big deal but when added up meant the property was in pretty rough condition, especially for the price paid. If these issues are addressed I would wholeheartedly recommend this property.

The unit itself was perfect for our family of 7. It’s right in River Run and easy walking distance for our kids with their gear. The balcony was the BEST view to watch NYE fireworks. However, the check in process is so unnecessarily difficult. Go to the office, find the box, enter the code, get the key, find the garage, go up to the unit... it could be easily simplified by just using a lockbox. I echo other reviews about the property management company and their rental agreement. Customer service is not a priority. Their rental agreement is absurd. When we called with a complaint they cited clauses by number and made no offer to correct. They charge $50/hour for early check in but offered nothing when the unit wasn’t ready by the normal check in time. And it was not the cleaners fault, there were 4/5 of them working their butts off when we arrived to drop off $400 worth of groceries that would have spoiled if we waited however long it would have taken to have the unit ready. My guess is poor scheduling by the management company. We read similar sentiments about management in the reviews, took our chances, and while the trip was overall successful we would never rent this unit or any managed by this company again.

The condo was a prime location in River Run. We liked having the ski lockers in the "club house". note that it only hold ski's for 6. Over all the condo could use some basic maintenance hinges on doors, fireplace etc. For 8 adults it felt tight.

This property was in a great location, but off season and the pool was closed, the hot tub stuffed with the same people constantly, no restaurants or shops were open (which was hard to find info online about this) and once I got my luggage packed on the cart to roll over and bring up (including a heavy cooler) the elevator had a sign on it that was out of order! So I had to put all the luggage back in my car so I could lug it up the stairs to the next floor one piece at a time, same for when I left. The hallway was so long, it reminded me of the halls in las vegas in the old hotels they have added to over the years. The interior had very cheap cabinates, for one- I was surprised they looked like partical board, not real wood. The faucet in the twin room was not working correctly, and was just poor quality. The mattresses in the twin room were sunken in so I felt like I was sleeping in a nest. The king room, the mattress was as hard as a rock- and I mean hard- it needs a topper maybe? The other room had a bed that was comfortable. The deck is gorgeous, really the best reason to rent this place, but not in the off season. I'd rent a house in the hills for a better price and easier parking and much higher quality if you go in the off season. All remotes had dead batteries, too, so we couldn't get the TVs going on the first night. I went and bought batteries but we took them with us, so I am guessing they may still be dead. I am sure they would have brought us new ones if we had asked! The sheets, towels, and linens were all nice, bedding was nice, lots of pillows. The scattegories game was missing the big letter dice, so we didn't play that. Plenty of space for a big family and I loved that the three bedrooms each had their own bathroom, so no one had to share. All in all, a great stay, but just wish there was a little more action as far as other people and open shops. There were plenty of people wandering around wanting somewhere to shop.

We have been back to Keystone 8 of last 9 years to ski as a family, and always enjoy the easy access to River Run gondola and ski school for our youngest. Great location. More than enough room for a family of 4-5. Bars and restaurants are even closer than when we stayed at the Springs (love the Springs as well). ONLY downside is their hot tubs are small and outdated, BUT we easily walked over to the Dakota across the parking lot each afternoon as the hot tubs there are nice and the heated pool was great for our 2 kids.
