There are also plenty of delis, bakeries, coffee shops and local craft stalls. Famous for its narrow streets and courtyards, this traditional market town is one not to be missed. If you like culture, check out the Theatre By The Lake, ¾ mile away with award winning arts and drama on the banks of Derwentwater. From the lake you can hire a rowing boat or even take a dip.
