Great experience

This home served our needs perfectly. The layout was beyond what we expected and accommodated our family wonderfully. The decorations made the home feel very comfortable and cozy. The best part was the screened-in porch. Although this home is not on the water, the location was so convenient to area beaches that we were just as happy. Plenty of parking space and ease of access made this a great property. My only recommendation is to upgrade the cooking pans. As far as check-in, the address is not provided or any further details until the home is available. This was a little challenging because of coordinating with others in the family the location and area. I would have preferred a welcome email the day prior to help us organize our plans. Overall, this is great and we are very pleased.

The kitchen has everything needed and a gas grill was a definite plus. The game room was a great get away for the younger family members. We enjoyed the close board walk to the ocean. The high tide and dolphins didn't disappoint us.

Everything was great!!

My groomsmen and I stayed for my wedding, and everything was great. Only small issue was the vanity in the master bathroom upstairs had dead lightbulbs. Other than that, everything was super clean and well stocked. Made for an incredibly enjoyable stay!

Family Reunion

The house was spacious and well-appointed with plenty of kitchen items, games, linens. We were nine family members ranging in age from 23 to 88. We could all be in the same room to eat or watch TV, play games, etc. Our 88 year old mom/nana suggested there be a bar in the shower for greater safety. There was initially a misunderstanding regarding the dates we needed to book, but the property manager and owner were very understanding and flexible, and it ultimately was worked out -- much appreciated!

Carried Away was a great home base for our Jekyll Island family vacation. The kitchen was nicely stocked with tools and dishes allowing us to have several homemade meals. There was ample sleeping, eating, bathroom, and “hangout” space for 10 - we didn’t feel cramped at all. The screened in porch with rocking chairs was a favorite spot for grandparent/grandchild bonding. Everyone has been asking to go back next year.

Wonderful two weeks at Carried Away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were five adults and three children, and there was plenty of room for all of us at Carried Away for two weeks. This was our third successive stay there, and we've made reservations for next year. We are thoroughly satisfied with the cleanliness and convenience of the home; its location, one block from beach access, was perfect; the use of a two-car garage was a bonus. Little welcoming touches to the house (a variety of tea choices, toys and games for the children, books on Jekyll Island, etc.) were thoughtful additions by the owners, who obviously care about the house and its visitors. Jekyll Realty has always responded promptly to questions and requests, and we are more than satisfied with the company and the property. We recommend it highly to any family that wants to spend some quality time together in a comfortable home on a beautiful island.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed twice at Carried Away and have found it to be a welcoming home-away-from-home. There are eight of us (three children), and there was plenty of room for all. Only a block from the beach, the location was great. We are a bike-riding family, and it was nice to be on one of the bike paths, equidistant from the Beach Village and the North end of the island - and we appreciated having a large garage for our bikes. The house was equipped with everything we needed, clean, and spacious. Jekyll is a place where you want to be outside as much as possible, so we used the backyard​ and deck a lot, too. We had a wonderful couple of weeks, and we appreciate having such a "home base" for all our activities. We highly recommend Carried Away to anyone looking for a family-oriented home.

December 2016 Stay

This is the nicest house we've rented on Jekyll Island. Lots of character and nicely remodeled. We had plenty of room to spread out and I loved that we had 3 bathrooms. Great location on the island. Also, I've used other rental agencies and none compare to Jekyll Realty! We had a great week and hate to leave. We're making reservations to return.

June 2016 Stay

House was perfect for the eight of us. It had excellent storage space and the kitchen was well supplied for all our meal requirements, and we prepared 3 meals a day every day. An extra beverage refrigerator came in quite handy. The house is a short walk to the beach, even for our 21 month old. We had three generations in the home and it was suitable for all of us. We even saw deer on the lawn nearly every evening. We are returning next year.
