West of Yellowstone Lodge is a beautifully handcrafted custom cabin located on the shore of Island Park Reservoir. This property makes for your ideal waterfront vacation home including your very own private boat dock & private launch. *Please note the private boat launch is more suitable for small boats or water toys. If you have large boats or pontoons please use the community boat launch just a short distance away. This cabin is equipped with central air conditioning, assuring that you stay cool during the summer months and forced air heating with multiple gas fireplaces to be used in the cooler seasons.



The main floor includes a custom kitchen with beautiful stainless steel appliances and a dining room with a table that seats 10 with extra seating at the kitchen counter. The living room comes equipped with a propane fireplace and a smart TV. The master bedroom suite has a private full bathroom and private deck entrance. Also included on the main level is a shared bathroom with walk-in tile shower and across the hallway is a laundry room. The upper loft has an additional master bedroom with a private en suite bathroom. Two more private bedrooms are included with 1 queen bed in each room. The basement level includes a family room with a Smart TV, pool table and backyard patio entrance.



Bring the whole family and come enjoy our luxurious West of Yellowstone Lodge in Island Park, Idaho. This cabin is approx. 45 minutes from the West entrance of Yellowstone. Enjoy amazing views of Targhee National Forest while creating unforgettable memories with family and friends. This home caters to all, whether it's playing in the Island Park Reservoir, exploring the surrounding mountains, rivers and trails, relaxing with company on the large deck, playing in the large manicured yard, or enjoying the comforts of the cabin. Don't forget s'mores by the fire pit!



The Island Park Reservoir water level recedes during the summer season. Island Park Reservations does not guarantee water depth or usage of private dock.

Getting Around:

Guests will need to make sure they have their own vehicle. Summer months are fine with a small car but four wheel drive is a must in the winter!



Other Things to Note:

What to bring with you!- You're coming to a wilderness area to vacation and if you plan your vacation well you will have a positive experience. In the summertime May and through the middle of June can tend to be cooler early morning and toward the evening hours. Make sure to bring a jacket and long pants you can change into when needed. Bring a pair of tie up shoes to protect your feet. Shoes likes flip flops or sandals will not protect your feet when you are out exploring. Layering your clothing is a good idea and then if your too warm you can take off clothing as needed. At least this way when departing your cabin early morning to go site seeing you will have what you need with you. July and August are pretty warm and you should still bring a light jacket. The rest of the year you will want to bring heavier jackets and long underwear, snow suits etc. You will need to bring your private toiletries like bar soap and shampoo as we do not provide this for you. Cabins are equipped with everything else you should need except food of course. Snow tires and four-wheel-drive are recommended for traveling in Eastern Idaho during the winter. Road conditions can change quickly, and even well-traveled highways are occasionally closed by blizzards or high winds. Before setting out, check the Transportation Department's website or call 511 for an automated, up-to-the-minute status of all thoroughfares. Wise motorists will also carry emergency gear (shovel, snack bars, water, blankets) in their vehicles to be ready for any contingency. Coming Snowmobiling? A reminder to anyone traveling back country areas whether skiing, snowmobiling or hiking: Remember the time of year, exercising all back country cautions. Take necessary equipment and survival gear when venturing into the back country. If you have a GPS and cell phone, be sure to take them with you, but do not rely on them entirely for a safe rescue if you find yourself in trouble or stranded. Cell phones should be kept close to your body & turned off to keep the battery full, so it's not searching for a signal & running the battery down. Avalanche Transceivers and equipment, knowing what the avalanche conditions are, and knowing skills to save lives are a must for everyone entering back country riding or traveling. Plan ahead. Make sure you know the area you are going into before heading into it. If you find yourself in trouble, stop, take a look around you, and do not go any further. The further you go the more complicated and dangerous it is to get yourself to safety, also making rescue efforts more difficult and dangerous. Make mental notes in relation to any physical features or landmarks that would assist in your rescue. Make a plan, stick to your plan, narrow the riding area, & most of all...let someone know WHERE you are planning to go!

This was a nice property. The location and view are outstanding. The house had everything that we needed. It was clean and comfortable. It was a large home with ample space. The yard was wonderful. We enjoyed the grass. Unfortunately, at the time we were staying at the home the water had dropped and the dock was laying on the beach, only partly in the water. On our last day, someone did come and lower the dock into the water. For the price of this home and our reason for renting the house, the dock should have been in the water upon arrival. I am still giving 5 stars, but really feel the company should had reached out to us before arrival to notify us of the dock situation and also should have offered some sort of compensation.

Great Place to Unplug!

This property provided everything we needed to escape and relax. Our days were spent relaxing in the back yard and on the water. Boat and jet ski rentals we conveniently located across the lake. Yellowstone was less than an hours drive. 10 out of 10 if you are looking for a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends.
