"The manager and staff were very polite and helpful"

"I had a very comfortable stay. The room had everything I needed. I was mindful of the bar/restaurant opening hours, so planned accordingly with earplugs to account for noise levels. I would happily stay here again."

Only comment was that when we asked how to get the rugby on the tv channel, they weren't able to help and said to go over to the pub, which we did and saw it there, but maybe something that could be checked."

"I found the room a bit cold and there were no additional blankets"

"The staff welcomed me warmly upon arrival, and I was shown to my room. As it was cold, they switched on the heat pump as I was unpacking from my car to warm up the room. My room was spacious, and had a massive TV in it - probably a 65". The bed was large and very comfortable. Car parking can be limiting, however I managed to secure a spot. Was impressed, and I'd stay there again."

"Unfortunatley you get what you pay for. Only plus this accommodation is within easy walking distance to Wolf brook Arena. Staff were helpful as parking was a bit of an issue. Fridge was filthy , jug greasy and fingerprints all over it and the shower was pathetic no pressure at all, we had to screw the head off and use it like a tap to wash soap off, bench in bedroom has left over rubbish sitting on it. Honestly glad we were only staying the one night."

"We stayed overnight at Birches Motel as we had an early international flight out the next morning. The motel is in the middle of Reno’s and upgrading the rooms but we found our room to be perfect! Clean and comfortable which was just what we needed. Would happily stay there again! The shuttle picked us up at the airport which was great. No shuttle in the morning as we left at 5am but that was fine. Overall great overnight stay😊"

"Overall we had a good stay at the motel. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the location was convenient. Most parts of the experience were smooth and enjoyable. The only major issue was the airport shuttle service. We paid $15 to book the 6am shuttle to the airport, but it never arrived. We waited until 6:30am with no communication or update from the motel. In the end, we had to book an Uber ourselves for a very similar price just to make our flight. What was most disappointing...

"Great being on site where you can have breakfast and tea. And the meals are really good. The only negaetive was tge heater in the room goes off every 2 hours. So can get quite cold overnight"

"I only stay at this hotel when I’m in Christchurch. Make sure you book a premium room on the 6th floor so you have a good amount of space and natural light. The location can’t be beaten - right in the shops, but it’s very quiet in the room. They have great barista coffee and food too, but equally there are so many great cafes nearby. They do charge for a late checkout but otherwise it’s an excellent hotel."
