In 1790 Seaview Cottage, was a simple fisherman's residence, and is now a cosy and delightful one bedroom garden apartment with a spacious garden patio offering you superb sea views and alfresco dining. This well maintained and fully equipped property is a short walk to Ilfracombe's busy harbour still with an active fishing community. The Harbour is home to Damien Hirst's famous statue, Verity. A SUPERB piece of Craftsmanship which is a subject of conversation with everyone who has seen her. It is ours for 20 years, loaned by Damien Hirst who has a fondness for this beautiful North Devon area, and who now lives locally. Damien has a harbour side wine bar/restaurant offering great food and the best of views too. Relax with a coffee and watch the activity of the sailing enthusiasts working on their crafts.

Ilfracombe's aquarium is also a unique spot to enjoy a coffee on the balcony and all the comings and goings of The Oldenburg Ship on it's daily trips to Lundy Island. If island life appeals, perhaps you may be tempted too, or take a trip along the stunning coastline in one of the local boats. Don't miss out if you enjoy fishing, you can fish from The Quay or from the well equipped vessels manned by experienced local fishermen. Be sure to take a woolly jumper as it is always cooler on the water.

Seaview Garden Apartment is tucked away in a secret garden away from the main road and yet so very near to everything that will give you access to anything you want to get involved in. For example; The High Street and Fore Street restaurants are just two - three minutes walk away, with interesting shops and art galleries, the Seafront Tea Gardens offer tempting choices for lunch with of course, a scrumptious Devon Cream Tea later on. If you have a very special date to celebrate, Ilfracombe now boasts a new Michelin Star Restaurant in Fore Street, The Olive Room, alongside the other specialised seafood restaurants, but if Italian, Indian, Spanish, Chinese or traditional local food are on your list, this is the town to tempt you to enjoy locally caught fresh fish! The new Black Sands onThe Seafront is so popular that booking is essential. Check it out before you arrive on your break.

Boat trips are available every day to view this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty along the coastline, and great fishing trips are available daily too. The Catch of The Day is on offer in local pubs and restaurants, and Maddy's is very popular for good old fish and chips.

THE PROPERTY: Newly refurbished and all on one level it has a large patio, a pretty garden, super BBQ, and a selection of garden furniture including a new and inviting garden swing. The spacious patio garden now overlooks our reclaimed orchard with a surviving 100 year old (plus?) apple tree which was exposed when 20 plus years of neglect and overgrown shrubbery was cut away revealing the walls with their Victorian Training Wires still in place.

The pretty double bedroom with vintage furniture, has good storage and a very comfortable bed. All linen is supplied including towels and if you stay more than a week, your linen is changed of course.

The newly decorated lounge has a very comfortable Knowle sofa, cosy leather armchair; and the attractive feature fireplace is useful for cooler evenings; round pine dining table with dining chairs; a large flat screen TV with Freeview and good choice of DVDs; radio and CD's, and a bookcase offering a varied selection of books and novels for whiling away a relaxing afternoon on the garden swing!

The kitchen has everything you need for self catering, with a fast Ceramic Hob; fan oven; coffee maker; fridge/freezer; microwave; dishwasher and washing machine. Fully equipped with crockery, pots and pans plus utensils. Should we have missed anything, please do ask.

The Cloakroom and separate Shower Room have heated towel rails.

WE HAVE NOW ACQUIRED A SECURE RENTED GARAGE NEARBY WHICH WE OFFER TO OUR GUESTS FOR A SMALL DAILY CHARGE.

Seaview offers good access to local Blue Flag beaches, with Woolacombe Beach just 4 miles away and voted Best Beach in the whole of Europe in 2016. The Tunnels Beach in Ilfracombe offers safe sea bathing with a great cafe for coffee, snacks and ice cream. With good Coastal Walks and Exmoor on the doorstep you will be spoiled for choice. A day spent in the lovely soft, North Devon sea air, rated among the best in England, is often claimed by our guests as the answer to a restful night's sleep! The lovely comfortable bed helps too we often hear!

Pay a visit to our local theatre on the seafront, The Landmark, with full entertaining programmes of Summer shows, and with the multi screen cinema on the High Street offering all the very latest movies there is entertainment for all tastes.

Enjoy a day out sightseeing and return to Seaview for that BBQ, a glass or two on the patio and the beautiful sunsets we are blessed with here in North Devon, end your day perfectly.

Seaview Garden Apartment is available all year round for those hardy folk seeking fresh invigorating walks on Exmoor and the lovely coastal walks around here!! Of course there is always the opportunity to snuggle up after that walk, catch up on your reading,and just relax. (or chill and watch our collection of DVDs!) Don't forget this is a COSY cottage with efficient gas central and a feature fireplace for cooler evenings.

We had a perfect few days in this charming cottage, beautifully furnished with the most stunning views.Cosy and comfortable with everything you could possibly need. Our dog had the best time too in the stunning enclosed garden and orchard, quite the perfect place to sit with your morning coffee looking out at the sea and harbour. We were able to park our car in the garage provided for a small daily charge as parking in the area can be difficult. A welcome service. Overall it was a little piece of heaven and we are thoroughly refreshed. the t

The views were exceptional and a lovely place to stay . Checked out in the morning but nobody answered the door or asked us if we enjoyed the stay , so we posted the keys through the letterbox

The property has is super cosy and has everything you need.The owner was very welcoming and even though the property is attached to the main house, they don’t interfere in your stay. Had a great time and the views from the terrace are stunning. The dog loved running around the orchard which is fully enclosed. Just a note, if you are on the tall side, the ceilings in the lounge and bedroom are low.

We especially liked being so close to all the amenities of Ilfracombe, finding our way through shortcuts and pathways to arrive wherever we needed to be. Shops, eating places,beaches, harbour all close at hand.

Fantastic stay, the property is gorgeous and just as described. The Orchard is a beautiful (huge) add on if you have dogs, an absolute gem!! Loo roll, tea bags, coffee, cooking pans etc.. It's all there. We will definately be returning!

One of the nicest holiday accoms we've stayed in. Small, as you would expect for a two person property but cosy, comfortable and beautifully furnished. Terrace, view and orchard were the real highlight. Enjoyed alfresco breakfast, afternoon snoozies, drinkies and sunsets out there. Great location for accessing all that Ifracombe and north Devon have to offer. Really warm welcome from hosts. Our dog also welcomed and loved it. We had the most wonderful, relaxing holiday.

The property is great for a couple. Home from home, with everything you need. The bed especially is very comfy. The garden sells this property with its amazing views stunning on a summers day. A little akward to find at first, however once sourced its a great find. Parking on the main road no car access but less than a minute walk so really not a problem. Great 3 day stay we had, And very dog friendly.

We are just back from a wonderful stay at Seaview , all the better for such glorious weather - summer at long last. Seaview is a delightful place to stay, a real home from home with all you could need & im.sure if there was something you really required Anne & Graham would do their best to provide it. The apartment is clean & beautifully decorated in keeping with the age of the building & the view from the kitchen window is lovely, wish my own kitchen view at home was just as fabulous. The lovely patio has several choices of places to sit all with lovely views. We sat & ate out most evenings & on several mornings for breakfast too enjoying watching what was happening down on the harbour & general comings & goings. The orchard area is a lovely green space again with seating & views & when Graham completes his summer house project there will be another delightful place to sit on cooler days. Its well worth booking the garage Graham rents out as though there is some parking near by ( you have to pay ) its not guaranteed, garage isnt far just a few minuets walk. We enjoyed our stay & hope to return to stay again so thank you again Anne & Graham for letting us stay in your lovely apartment, we want an invite to the opening ceremony of the summer house Graham 😂

Lovely break at Seaview with the weather improving each day. We visited the harbour most days and enjoyed some lovely lunches out and about. The apartment had everything we and Bella our dog needed, she loved the orchard and we loved relaxing on the patio. Would love to return. Thank you very much Anne & Graham 😊

A lovely cottage with stunning views to the sea and the town, easy walking distance to everything, the cottage has everything you need for your stay, its so cosy and we felt relaxed as soon as we got there. The hosts were lovely and welcoming. Our dog absolutely loved the gardens to run around. A little gem of a place if you want to explore North Devon. Thank you.
