Furnished to a high standard, 2 Dix Cottages is an exquisite and stylish delight nestled at the heart of the charming coastal village of Thornham. Surrounded by stunning walks, and very close to the outstanding gastropubs, the deli, and other fabulous village amenities, this hideaway is also a 25 minute walk from the beach.

Ideal for a family summer break, or a great base for good friends to spend time away together, 2 Dix Cottages exudes relaxation. Deceptively spacious and comfortable, the cottage has been styled to emulate a vibrant boutique hotel, yet feels like a welcoming home from home. The social hub of the cottage effortlessly blends a well-equipped bespoke kitchen, dining area and sitting area. Glazed french doors lead out to the garden with windows to three sides of the room enjoy lush green views, meaning the room is flooded with natural light. An additional elegant snug room invites guests to nestle deep into the sumptuous sofas after a day spent exploring. This ground floor is warmed via an air source heat pump heating, which is underfloor to some rooms, plus not just one, but two charming wood burning stoves. Upstairs, three beautifully curated bedrooms are presented; a king-size master bedroom with en suite shower room; a twin room with beds that can be converted to a super-king; and a twin room with en suite shower room. A good-sized family bathroom features a roll top bath and separate walk-in shower. Outside, the west facing walled garden hosts mature fruit trees with a shrub border. Garden furniture for dining al fresco is available on the terraced area. Two cars can park on the cottage's private driveway.

Located in the middle of the village, 2 Dix Cottages boasts some wonderful places to eat right on the doorstep. The award-winning gastropub The Orange Tree is just over the road. Five minutes walk away, Thornham Deli offers great breakfasts and relaxed dining. A little further down the road there is a selection of eateries and shops at the Drove Orchards, including superb fish and chips or pizza at Eric's. Walkers and birdwatchers are spoilt for choice with the North Norfolk coast path moments away, and RSPB Titchwell a short drive or half hour walk away. Thornham also has its own beautiful, often deserted, wide expanse of sandy beach which is waiting to be discovered. The vast beach at Brancaster with its resident colony of seals is ten minutes' drive way. The Coasthopper bus stops in the village, making it easy to get anywhere along the coast.

2 Dix Cottages and the neighbouring cottage can be booked together for larger groups: 1 Dix Cottages (sleeps four guests).

Comfortable home in a great location

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dix Cottages and would love to come back. It was spacious, comfortable, warm and ideally situated. The garden was large and pretty. We could walk to the three local pubs, the sea and Thornham Deli plus there were really enjoyable coastal walks close by too. We’ve stayed in a number of places along the coast over many years and we think this has been the best. Definitely recommend.
