Walkers and cyclists are well catered for here, with the start of the Pennine Way only 13.5 miles away. For a less challenging route, the Monsal Trail can be accessed at Bakewell (6.5 miles) and follows 8.5 miles of railway that was decommissioned in the 1960s. Discover the beautiful spa town of Buxton (11 miles), where you can indulge in some retail therapy at the plethora of independent boutiques and markets, or dine in one of the many restaurants and cafes. For a touch of history, visit Chatsworth House (7 miles). With a farmyard, playground, cafe and farm shop, it has something for everyone.
