This was a great little place to stay. Beautiful view of the canal and a bit of Waikiki from the massive window. Easily walkable to anywhere you want to go, so don't rent a car. It costs $40/night to park a car there, so just walk or rent a car each day you need one.
The elevators were terrible. There were three elevators that could go up, but there was usually only one working at a time due to maintenance or due to the "upgrades" they were doing. We waited over 15 minutes one morning to get downstairs and we were running to our tour bus because of it.
The WiFi decided to stop working for 24h which was also a problem because I didn't have a phone, so we needed to go down to the hotel lobby to use the public wifi there. But don't expect the hotel staff to help you - there is a clear difference between the hotel guests and the VRBO guests; when we booked, I didn't even know it was a hotel. Which means there's a pool there that the hotel guests can use, but not the VRBO guests (which is fine as we weren't expecting one). As for the wifi, I tried unplugging it to get it going, and eventually had to reset the modem completely to get internet. We left before it was on, and when we came back to the room, a lady was looking for the room at the same time to go fix it. I think she was planning on just entering the room without our knowledge to fix it (!) but luckily we showed up at the exact time she did.
You can use the gym for $5 for your entire stay, and it's totally worth it as they have a water dispenser there for you to fill up your bottles.
The window in the room opens completely, which is scary as you are so high up and it can easily be very dangerous. If you have children - either don't go here or never open the window more than a few inches.
Would I stay again? Yeah, I would. I would just give myself extra time because of the elevators and would have a backup plan for WiFi in case it went out.
