2/10, Horrible

We had a terrible experience staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village due to the PTC’26 conference taking over the resort. The convention made much of our stay miserable. The property was overwhelmingly crowded, with large sections closed exclusively for conference attendees, limiting access for regular guests.
Staying in the Tapa Tower was extremely frustrating, with elevator waits often reaching 20 minutes. When I raised this concern with staff, I was told to come back if it happened again so security could be notified — not a real resolution.
We also witnessed a family being turned away from enjoying the Tapa Bar live music by security because the area was closed for the conference, which discouraged us from even trying to use that area or nearby pool.
The only positives were the excellent housekeeping staff, our ocean-view room (paid extra), and the spicy garlic shrimp from Blue Water Shrimp & Seafood Market.
We are extremely disappointed to have spent so much money on what was meant to be a once-in-a-lifetime family trip, only to have it negatively impacted by a conference we were never informed about in advance, with no accommodations made to improve the guest experience.
