The Lookout

Perched on a bluff with 180 deg views of Cook Inlet and Kachemak Bay. In the backdrop, Alaska’s Ring of Fire volcanos, Augustine, Iliamna, Redoubt, and Mnt. Douglas. Privacy of 2 acres of outdoor entertainment and only 2 minutes from Homer’s nightlife, fine dining, shops, and art galleries. Comfortable for parties up to 6 and cozy enough for a couples getaway. 1200 sq ft open concept home perfect for socializing and entertaining indoors or out. Breath-taking views from every room to watch ships, fishing boats, whales, eagles, and other wildlife. The home is located on a bluff, the edge is protected by fencing.
Only minutes from the Diamond Creek Trailhead and beach park. Turning left off the Sterling Highway across from Diamond Ridge Road is the access to this trail. You can park here and add a mile or so to your hike or drive down to the trailhead. The trail will lead you through the forest, alders, and tall grass meadows along the bluff before descending to the beach.

We really enjoyed our stay in this cute house. Easy check in, very clean, comfy beds and an incredible view of the inlet and surrounding mountsins. Quiet location with a beautiful yard and loved spending time on the deck enjoying the gorgeous sunsets.

The view is spectacular - absolutely beautiful. All king beds and were very comfortable; the view from two of the upstairs bedrooms is equally great. Very clean, well appointed, and a convenient location to Homer. We had a comfortable 2-night stay and recommend this property.

LOOKOUT A NICE COZY HOME

Lookout is a nice cozy 2 level home. It has all the amenities you need to relax while in Homer Alaska area. The view is great, with the exception of windows needing cleaned and perhaps a sir the seals leak to get a clear view …the sun peeping in keeps the cabin warm n cozy. If you like storms this home is for you…the view of the various mountains and bay is beautiful. Moose like to roam the yard and if the weather permits you can have a fire outside in the lovely pit area. The host is very easy to reach and stay in contact with before and during your stay. Like any home that’s notes you can find things that may be a negative, but really this home satisfies our needs and was a delight to find and have the opportunity to stay in. The host has a cooler, boots, bbq and other amenities if you go fishing or out about to use. We would reserve this home agin if the need arises to be in Homer again. Thank you!

Amazing

A little mix up on the address and ended up in the wrong house but that was quickly resolved. Lauren is an amazing host. We had issues with the water our first day and lauren was on it right away, she even provided a case and 6 gallons of drinking water. The property had amazing veiws. The only bad was the dining room window, the 10 pm sun shines right in your face while sitting on the couch, even with the pull down tinted shade. We will definitely rent this property again when we are ready to visit the Homer area again

Beautiful views

Fantastic views of Kachemak Bay and the surrounding mountains. Perfect place for 3 couples traveling together as each couple had their own bed with a king bed. Enjoyed sitting at the table watching the boats go by. Awesome views from the bedrooms. Saw sandhill cranes in the yard

Wonderful Views

Very comfortable home, nice appliances and artistic touches. But of course the views are everything. Whether outside on the deck, inside in the bedrooms, or just sitting at the kitchen table, the views are fantastic. Sunrises, sunsets, and eagles in between. Unforgettable.

Beautiful home

Our stay was amazing. The home was well kept and clean. There was an issue with the electrical down stairs. A lot of lights and outlets were not workin - we did notified the owner. Other than that the stay was beyond what we expected. The views cannot be matched. We’re planing on coming back in a year or two and I will definitely look into staying here again.

Lauran and her home are truly amazing! She’s very responsive to messages and she cares about her guests and their experience! The views are spectacular from inside and outside the home! We saw a bald eagle and Mt. Redoubt from the deck. Mosquitos were non existent as we were able to enjoy bbq’ing, socializing, and a nice fire in the back yard. Be sure to bring firewood! Lauran has a lot covered: matches, binoculars, bear spray, even a Bluetooth speaker! I’d definitely rent Lauran’s place again! Her home is located 10-15 min from Homer and is in a nice neighborhood. I always felt safe!

Heaven on Earth!

The Lookout exceeded our expectations! The house is so well stocked and equipped with everything you could need. Bedrooms are amazingly comfortable, black out blinds are truly appreciated!! The deck was such a great place to gather and relax. The grounds were beautifully maintained and bursting with colors of the season and last but of course not last, the views were magnificent!! On a clear day we could see 5 volcanoes!! Great location close to Homer and the spit but far enough away from all the distractions. The Lookout is a magical location, we will cherish those memories forever.

Adorable place with amazing views

Did not disappoint! Have done lots of VRBOs and this one was great! Loved the quietness and views, lots of extras for convenience from BBQ to ice cooler to cooking spices- had everything we needed to come and relax and cook our fresh caught fish after a long day on the water
