This property was one of the worst vacation rentals I have ever experienced, and the listing was completely misleading.•The listing claimed 600 sq ft, but we measured only 390 sq ft. That is nearly half the size advertised and clear false advertising.•The pool was overheated and crawling with no-see-ums, making it unusable.•The unit was dirty from the start. The sleeper sofa was broken, practically on the floor, and full of sand.•The couch had stains, and there was black dust on the bathroom sink.•The Murphy bed blocks the front door when opened, which is unsafe and impractical.•There was no real storage space, despite the listing suggesting otherwise.Before arrival Rex sent a long text full of rules about keeping the place spotless, including absurd details like washing dishes only with the soft side of a sponge. Yet the place itself was not clean when we checked in.When I raised these issues, Rex mocked me, saying that since I am from New York I “probably lived in smaller conditions anyway.” When I asked for a partial refund or relocation, he cancelled my reservation, fully aware that I am pregnant and traveling with my four-year-old. Thankfully, Vrbo was on the line to confirm that I did not want to cancel, but at that point it was impossible to find another place in Anna Maria on such short notice.This experience was a disaster with false advertising, filthy accommodations, and a hostile host. Avoid this rental at all costs.
