Pet friendly country cottage with large fenced-in yard & horses on property

Just a short drive from Charleston or Columbia is a relaxing little cottage just waiting for you. Looking for a mini vacation but don’t want to drive for hours? Get out of the traffic of I-95 and enjoy the slow pace as well, or if you are coming in for a family reunion, wedding or any other reason, we’ve got just what you need. Our Little Red Cottage has two bedrooms, one bath and is fully stocked with all your needs. Plush bedding, full size kitchen and lots of little extras to make you want to stay even longer. Watch the deer cross the horse pasture daily from the kitchen window or sit on the front porch with your morning coffee and enjoy it all. The front yard is fully fenced and the cottage is pet friendly, so you are welcome to bring your fur babies with you. It's a great place for the dogs to stretch their legs and play safely while traveling. We have over 160 acres of planted pines and trails, so just let us know if you want to get out and walk the trails (weather permitting). Book your stay soon!

We LOVE this little farm setting with its fenced front yard and well-appointed cottage--it's our go-to now after a second stay recently. Kay is a gracious and kind host, everything is just that much nicer than it really needs to be, and we feel content enjoying our coffee on the porch or meals in the perfect little dining room. Venture into town (it's very small, but the people are extra nice) and try the corner cafe coffee shop--great Chai, too--or some of the local diners. You just might be pleasantly surprised. The real star of the show is the night sky, morning sunrise, and gloriously unspoiled sunsets.

A very convenient place to stay while traveling south. Unfortunately, through no fault of the hosts, we had a late afternoon and evening of continuous hard rain. I mention this because, due to the rain, I cannot speak to enjoying the outside area, The pool house, however, was cozy, clean and comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable. The hosts were quick to respond to questions.

This cabin was pristine. It is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. My dog loved the fenced in yard - freedom from the tie out! I enjoyed time on the porch enjoying the quiet. I wish I could have stayed longer; will definitely consider going back.

Our stay was perfect. We stayed overnight with our small dog on the way to the Keys. The home is so very nicely appointed and well done. It was exceptionally clean. The snacks, water and coffee assortment was so very thoughtful. The surroundings are very peaceful. Our dog loved the fenced in yard which also provided a safe place to play and removed any worry. Kay was wonderful to work with and very responsive. It was even better than pictured. I would not hesitate to stay again.

Kay is an outstanding host. The house was clean and accurately described. Kay has little touches that really make you feel at home. The beds are so comfy and the dogs loved the fenced in yard. Perfect getaway

This was the cutest place my husband and I have stayed and it being pet friendly was perfect. It was super clean upon arrival and was just as it was listed. It was great waking up to watch the horses and deer each morning in the paddock. The fenced yard was just the perfect size for my small pups.

Without a doubt, this was one of the finest getaway spots I have encountered in the United States. I must credit Kate as the true expert in VRBO rentals. As a coffee enthusiast, I often find that accommodations either serve decent coffee without cream or lack coffee altogether. However, Kate had an impressive selection of coffee and creamers, including all of my favorite flavors. To top it off, she checked in on us during our stay and even brought additional creamers.The charming little house exceeded all my expectations. Everything was not only amazing but also impeccably clean and well-maintained, and it was equipped with all the necessary amenities—there's so much more I could say. I regret not bringing my dogs along; they would have thoroughly enjoyed the spacious, fenced yard where they could run freely.Additionally, I must highlight the tranquility and seclusion of the location. Although my time there was brief, I find myself wanting to return just to relax and escape from the hustle and bustle. It truly offers peace of mind at its best. Clean, calm and comfortable

We absolutely loved our stay at Kay’s property! The house was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. It was especially perfect for our fur babies, with the fully gated yard giving them a safe space to explore and play.One of my favorite parts of the day was enjoying my morning coffee while watching Kay’s beautiful horses grazing in the distance — such a peaceful and picturesque setting. Kay was also a fantastic host: always friendly and quick to respond to any questions we had.Truly, our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. We can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
