Waterfront 3 Bedroom House 10 min From Hobart

Set literally perched on Little Howrah Beach, the house enjoy magic views across the Derwent River to the city and Mount Wellington. With only 10km (10 minutes drive) to the CBD of Hobart, you can combine a beach getaway with a visit to all the inner-city attractions worth seeing.

Just imagine what it would be like to open the gate, stroll across the road and jump in the water at the magical Little Howrah Beach! Enjoin a morning swim/kayaks, or step into the water to spear a flounder for dinner. If you fancy a long walk, combine Howrah Beach with a walk on Bellerive Beach.

Glow-in-the-dark bioluminescent water
This incredible natural phenomenon, known as bioluminescence or sea sparkle, occurs when tiny plankton lights up and causes the sea to literally glow in the dark. During the day the plankton give off a pink color, so if you spot this, make sure you keep an eye on the beach around midnight time to see if they glow.

Getting Around
The house is just about 10 minutes drive (10km) from the Hobart CBD. The Hobart Airport is only 15km away. Just one block away, there is a small corner store (Howrah Point Store) that does takeaways and sells groceries. The closest major supermarket is only 5 minutes walk at the Shoreline Shopping plaza.

It is highly recommended guests arrive with their own car for ease of transport. If this is not an option, public transport runs regularly along Howrah Beach Road. Taxis and Uber are convenient and reliable in Hobart.

The Space
Sunny and light-filled home accommodates 6 people with no hidden costs, completely waterfront with direct access to the beach plus a closed pets friendly courtyard . Three bedrooms generous sized, open plan kitchen/dining and lounge room, reverse cycle air conditioner on every room, single carport with further off-street parking. Flowing through sliding doors from the living room is the superb sun drenched patio allowing stylish outdoor entertaining whilst capturing scenery that is simply breathtaking. All local services within walking distance.
There is everything you need, Nespresso coffee, tea, oil, salt, pepper, garbage bags, cling wrap, foil, dishwashing detergent, dishwasher tablets, tea towels for use while staying. Enjoy a beach getaway only moments from the action, take a book to the beach and watch the dramatic sunsets from the sand, jump on a kayak, stand up on a paddleboard, fishing on the beach, or just sit, drink, chat and relax. Your time!

We love the waterfront location and the stunning views, the host has been very kind and accommodating to our requests. We would love to stay there again next time we are visiting the area.

Thank goodness for the view.

We stayed at Howrah as the final part in our two week holiday in Tasmania having stayed at six other short stay homes on this trip and many more on other trips. We were very dissappointed to say the least. The check in email had not been sent with the key code and when the owner was contacted he quoted the wrong number for another house and indicated he sent the check in email on the wrong booking platform. Had to ring again and owner thought we were at a different house. Finally got the right number after several calls. The house itself was in drastic need of a real clean, not just a vacuum. Whilst the house was equiped with just about everything you would need, the presentation was poor and the condition of the furniture and fittings was atrocious. The reclining armchairs were all broken, the bed mattresses were thin and hard, walls and ceiling had been patched and not repainted. The usual extras we had found in the kitchens of other houses were not present, just tea and coffee (no milk). The garden and yard was overgrown with weeds in the pavers everywhere, the entry gate was broken on its hinges. Owner advised that a garderner was coming in on our second day but didn't arrive so left the place as we found it. Not a nice way to end two lovely weeks in Tasmania. If it wasn't for the great view across the water to the Hobart CBD and Mount Wellington we would have been furious. This place has so much potential, just needs the right people to run it.

Beautiful view, tired property

The property was pet friendy, great for our 2 small dogs. The view was lovely and the water just accross the road. The beds were very comfortable too. However, the house was quite tired and unkept. The garden unloved. There was rubbish left out back, lots of ugly weeds, pegs on the ground and rubbish in a dust pan. There was bits of rubbish under the furniture inside, under beds and sofas. Some cooking utensils were not cleaned properly. Towels were provided but no hand towels or face washers. Overall not welcoming for quests. We enjoyed our stay but would not stay again.

Excellent location. Beautiful views across the Derwent to Hobart. House was clean but the oven had not been cleaned and had dirty pans in it. Owner was really good when we called about the smoke detector needing anew battery .

A lovely week in Hobart

Thoroughly enjoyed this property. A short drive across the Derwent and directly across the road from a lovely, quiet beach. All the necessary shops and whatnot are nearby and the view across the water back to the twinkling lights of Hobart are sensational.
