Not as we expected.
It’s taken me some time to write a review due to the frustration we had while there. I want to be fair and realistic. It was a home we got to use to be on vacation and it was clean and well furnished. A few points to review:
•There are NO elevators and we were not told until our check in instructions were sent as we were already on our way. The owner states it was clearly listed but I’ve rechecked the notes and it is not listed. My mom has mobility issues that left us struggling to go about without her feeling miserable.
•The air was set on a timer that left us with nearly 80 degree internal temp on night one and spending half my first day concerned over having a livable temperature in the SC summer heat. It should be noted that there is no set schedule while the unit has tenants.
•The “beachfront” is NOT a beachfront, it is a salt marsh with a significant walk to the water line when the low tide hits. High tide leaves little to no beach. It’s pretty scenery but not for those looking for a “beach”. We wound up driving and walking daily for beach access though we rented a “beachfront” property.
•Check in instructions were slightly dramatic, requires all sorts of information though it’s provided through VRBO, and unclear. The location has a LOT of rules/regulations (ie no pets however we watched a tenant walking their dog and there’s an open feral cat park in front).
Overall we were glad to be on vacation but this actual location left MUCH to be desired.
