  • Welcome to 3 Cat Boat ~ a beautiful seven bedroom beach home just steps away from the beach! This seven bedroom, seven bathroom (plus two half baths) private home can accommodate a group of up to 22 guests and is located second row ocean in Palmetto Dunes.

    This home features a private pool and spa + grilling area, screened in porch and half bath all located outside by the pool. The pool and spa are able to be heated with advance notice - see notes below.

    Another perk? This is a dog friendly home! The pet fee is $250 plus tax and covers up to two dogs maximum. If you are planning on bringing your furry friend, please reach out to our office in advance to pay the additional fee and confirm your four legged BFF.

    • Pool/Spa Info: Approximately 32 feet by 15 feet. The pool and spa at this home operate off both an electric heater and a propane heater. Electric heat is complimentary and typically available March through May and again September through October, weather permitting. Please note the electric heater will not operate if outdoor temperatures fall below 55 degrees at any point during your stay. Propane heat is available year-round regardless of outdoor temperatures. Propane pool heat is available for $115/day + tax with a four consecutive day minimum and includes spa heat. Propane spa-only heat is available for $45/day + tax with a four consecutive day minimum. The pool is not able to be heated during the summer months. Please reach out to our office at least two weeks prior to your arrival if you would like to arrange propane heat for your stay.

    • Dog Friendly: This home permits a max of two dogs to stay in the home. The pet fee is $250 plus tax – please reach out to our office in advance to confirm and pay the additional pet fee.

We never felt like we were on top of each other. The bedrooms were all a perfect size. There really wasn’t a “bad” room. We had a fantastic time. I also want to point out that the rental company for this property is fantastic. We had one or two minor issues and they were super fast in responding. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Wonderful location

Just like other reviews the area surrounding the home is just lovely. The beach access is right around the corner. The house itself is very spacious and with the open concept on first floor makes for a good time with lots of people. The elevator was quite useful and kind of fun and the fact there was a washer and dryer on both levels was fantastic. We had one person bring their work computer and set up in the office area next to laundry on second level and she said it worked out great. It was a tad too cold to do much outside but that was just the price of betting on mid-March. We had a few technical difficulties with the house but they were either resolved quickly (Rick was great) or we were given a substitute to get us by. I will say those dining room chairs were very loud (it’s odd to even mention but if you know, then just pick them up and move them or you will wake up the whole house). This was our first time staying for a family trip in Hilton Head and where we won’t be going back in March again we would go back and hopefully the management company Coastal will be managing the property. They ALL do a wonderful job trying hard to take care of you. FYI read ALL of the very well thought out emails you get from them before you arrive or you will regret it. They do a fantastic job trying to prepare you for the visit, unfortunately I didn’t read the last email and was without coffee filters. Thank goodness for UTube and paper towels.

We have always stayed in a different house every year, 3 Cat Boat is a top 5 home. The 7 bedrooms were the best yet for us. The large open space on the first floor made for a great family enjoyment. The parking area for a large group is a little challenging. The large garage helps with that. The pool and entertainment areas were great. It was only a few minutes from the beach.

What could have been better? We loved it!

Loved 3 Cat Boat. 12 adults stayed for the week with virtually zero complaints...and the minor issues we had (broken coffee maker, loose drawer handle) were addressed within hours of contacting Coastal Home. Location is wonderful. House faces ocean on 2nd row (very, very limited view of the ocean), so front screen room is beautiful in the morning for sitting and visiting. Pool area faces west, so lots of mid-day and afternoon sun. Nice privacy. The house is HUGE...we literally discovered rooms we had missed after being there a couple days. Never even used the big game room in the basement because there are so many other gathering spaces. Very well maintained, high end home. Hot tub warms up fairly quickly and gets as warm as you would like it. Pool was heated to 87 degrees. Short walk to the beach. Bottom line--we loved staying at 3 Cat Boat and recommend it without reservation.

The shrieking noise is enough to make everyone scream.2. Living Room sofa and the 2 swivel rockers are very uncomfortable. The sofa is too soft. The seating is too deep. 3. There is no small office space to set up a laptop computer. Guests had to put their laptops on the dining room table, use them, and dismantle them daily.4. Master bedroom toilet seat is falling off.5. Mattress in Master bedroom was uncomfortable.6. Kitchen should have a second dishwasher.7. All light fixtures are too dim. Need LED bulbs.8. There should folding beach chairs that can be taken to the beach.9. There were only 6 beach towels. Was supposed o be 8.10. There should be a manual in the kitchen that can be used to learn how to use the Wolf stove.11. There was not one sharp knife in the kitchen to cut anything. Bread could not be cut. It had to be hacked and broken.There was an a/c problem – the Emerg Phone Number was called – the response was immediate and very much appreciated.

FANTASTIC HOUSE! OUTSTANDING COMMUNICATORS!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve rented homes in Hilton Head several times, first time with Coastal Home. Cannot say enough about the experience with Coastal Home. There were some issues with the burners on the stove in the kitchen which we were notified about before we arrived. Logistics issues were delaying getting replacement valves so the burners were not functional. We were over-whelmed with the options Coastal Home provided to offset the loss of the burners – an additional grill, cast iron skillets, an electric griddle, 2 burner induction panel (with correct pots and a pan), 2 two-burner stovetops, and an air fryer! We found a couple maintenance issues which we notified them about and which were rectified within a couple hours of notifying them (lights out, broken Keurig, issue with a door lock). The team at Coastal Home was fantastic – we would rent from them again without hesitation. 3 Cat Boat is an amazing house. Close to the beach and a wonderful pool. Mornings at the beach, afternoons in the pool for most of us. We had 3 little ones (7, 5, 2) with us and I don’t think they could have had a better time. This is a great house – we would rent it again if it’s available next time. Both screen porches were used frequently – once to watch an incredible storm blow thru (yes it does rain in Hilton Head!) The house had everything we could have asked for. This is a great house - we had 17 people plus some visitors and there was more than enough room for everyone. Even had a baby shower!! Fantastic vacation!! What you see in the pictures is what you get. Close to the beach, close to Shelter Cove, close to shopping. We could not be happier with the house or the responsiveness of Coastal Home!!

Excellent location and great stay

The 7 bedroom, 7 bath home was idea for our family of 20. We had several minor maintenance issues but all were dealt with immediately and to our satisfaction. The staff are excellent. We loved the walk/path to the beach. The beach was wonderful. Renting electric bikes was great for Pap Paw.! Kitchen was well equipped.

Lovely home steps to the beach ; great for large groups

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This large home is great for families sharing accommodations. We had a few families with children stay together and we never felt crowded. The large kitchen & large family room were spacious and open. Our favourite spots were the front screened in porch for breakfast and dinner and nights in the covered screened porch were wonderful. The pool had sun most of the day and was a good size and the kids loved having the small backyard for volleyball, badminton and bocce. The path to the beach from the backyard is quick access and convenient to come back and forth from the beach. Bedrooms are all tucked away. Everyone has their own space and wing. Great vacation home. Would happily return!

Massive home is Palmetto Dunes

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall great house with a tremendous amount of space and sleeping quarters. Excellent location in Palmetto Dunes, steps to the beach and a short walk from Cocos on the Beach and the Dune House for easy take-out / bar options. Very good set-up for families with children. We had a great experience and the management company was super attentive to small issues that arose during our stay.

Beautiful Quiet Oasis near the Beach!
