Grand Historic Hilo House

  • Este gran estilo victoriano se encuentra en la prestigiosa Isla Cañas - una joya oculta de la Isla Grande de Hawai! Situado en el río Wailuku, Isla de Reed fue el hogar de las familias reales de Hawai y está a sólo unos minutos del centro histórico de Hilo.

    El establecimiento fue construido en 1916 por el banquero británico Thomas Guardia, es grande y elegante, y en el Registro Nacional de Lugares Históricos. El elegante salón tiene grandes ventanales correderas que enmarcan la magnífica bóveda de la naturaleza a través del río. Un amplio comedor y sala de estar son perfectas para reuniones familiares. La terraza cerrada cuenta con grandes ventanales y puertas con una zona de recepción y mesa de comedor, ideal para el trabajo creativo y relajante. La casa dispone de 7 habitaciones amplias y una terraza abierta en el segundo piso que da a las cascadas y el centro de la Bahía de Hilo. La cocina es amplia y actualizada, así como la lavadora y secadora en el sótano espacioso.

    El refinado planta jardín de paisaje ha sido meticulosamente cuidados por nuestros jardineros. Todas las direcciones ofrece exuberantes colores verdes y tropicales.

    Con el río Wailuku que fluye en el patio trasero y el ajuste de la selva tropical que cubre el mismo terreno, la Casa Hilo es un hermoso lugar para la relajación y tranquilidad!


    3 minutos del centro histórico con auténtica alta cocina y famoso mercado de Hilo Farmers '; 8 minutos de la Isla de Coco y el jardín japonés; 15 minutos a Hilo Aeropuerto; 15 minutos de las Cataratas Akaka; 4 minutos a las caídas del arco iris; 45 minutos a Parque Nacional Volcán; a poca distancia de la avenida Waianuenue donde los museos, iglesias, tiendas y una biblioteca.

Such a wonderful property. We had a small research team and needed a collective space for convening. It a was a genuine delight to think together in such a calm and well-appointed space.

Charlotte’s home is an impressive, historic residence. A Well maintained beautiful home and located in a beautiful setting with a view of a waterfall. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to cook and feed a large family of 15 and The boogie boards were a bonus for our grandchildren. Our time there will always be a favorite memory for all of us. The owner was very responsive to any questions we had. We can’t say enough about our time there.

Beautiful, quiet, clean, comfortable, & a lot of space to spread out. A real oasis. The kitchen is well stocked to prepare meals at home. The time we spent at the house we gravitated to the covered lanai to look and listen to the river and to stay dry from the daily rain. The home is very close to town. The host provided easy check in and check out instructions.

I am a grandmother to 7 children between 6 and 16 years old. I may not always appreciate their opinions in the moment but I absolutely do value how honest my grandchildren can be about what they are thinking and how they are feeling. The consensus of all 13 of us adults and children is that we wish there were more stars or a way to show that our stay was beyond excellent!

Our stay in Hilo was amazing! Charlotte was a gracious host. The home is a beautiful gem. We had our adult children with us, and we were able to spread out and spend time together without being on top of each other.

We had a lovely but too short stay at your beautiful historic home. The location was perfect and the views and seating areas overlooking the ravine and waterfall are unparalleled. There were a few uninvited creepy crawlers in the lower level that spooked some of our group and caused us to use only the upper level bedrooms but nothing unexpected in a historic home in this climate. Mahalo!

This is an exquisite property, beautifully maintained, full of historic charm and artwork. It sits on an island in the middle of the Wailuku river, with gorgeous views of the waterfalls and river immediately adjacent to the property. There are four large bedrooms, en suite upstairs, one on the main floor, just off the dining room, and another downstairs. It’s an easy walking distancing to downtown Hilo with all of its charming shops and cafés, and a fabulous farmers market. The house is so elegant and beautiful maintained that it’s a real splendor of a place. It’s well equipped with a modern kitchen and all the accoutrements to make it fun to stay in and cook fabulous dinners with friends. There is ample seating in a variety of common areas each of which is so relaxing and beautiful. We hope to stay here again.

This house was the dream home for our family of 8 vacation! Beautifully maintained, everything we needed for family dinners, and gorgeous spots to just relax and talk. It was a joy sleeping to the sound of the river and chirping frogs. We loved gathering on the wide veranda for coffee every morning before heading out to explore Hilo!
