The High House - an amazing 5 STAR LUXE mountain retreat in Highlands/Cashiers

Residing just inside the gated, private, and exclusive Wildcat Country Club, the High House offers a perfectly appointed mountain retreat that comes with a plethora of luxurious amenities and living spaces with panoramic, long-range mountain vistas.

Located within walking distance to the famed Whiteside Mountain hiking trail (the most popular hike in North Carolina), the High House offers guests bright and airy getaway with open living areas, fully stocked chef's kitchen, massive covered porch with gas fireplace and two grills, and 3 inviting and spacious bedrooms, each featuring king beds and private baths, as well as a guest half bath for the main living area.

In addition, a few of the wonderful amenities you'll be able to enjoy during your stay include:

- 75" Samsung smart TV with Sonos Arc sound bar in the living area
- Large circular dining table with room for up to 8
- Huge wood fireplace in the living room (wood is provided free of charge)
- Wet bar with wine fridge
- Dedicated reading/conversation area with game table
- Custom built grill table to a Big Green Egg and Weber gas grill w/ charcoal provided
- On the porch, a 65" Samsung smart TV with a Sonos Arc sound bar
- Outdoor dining area that seats up to 8
- Wonderfully comfortable outdoor lounge seating with sofa and four chairs - Dual 6000 watt Bromic heaters on the porch
- A 4-person golf cart to be able to cruise around and see all the wonderful houses and foliage in the area

The comfort continues in the bedrooms as well, with the primary bedroom featuring a $5,000 Sleep Number king mattress, amazing views, a massive shower area with dual shower heads and seating area, heated tile floors, and double vanities.

The large 2nd and 3rd bedrooms both offer incredibly comfortable king beds with Nectar mattresses, private bathrooms, unique art decor, and a plethora of natural light.

The High House is also equipped with a 40 amp JuiceBox EV charger with a J1772 plug for all your EV charging needs!

The home is better than the pictures. The location was easy to find, the house was super clean and the decor was beautiful. The kitchen was over the top with anything one might need to enjoy a delicious meal. Our bed was very comfy and a great spot to recharge after a busy day of touring. Lee was very quick to respond to the few question I had. It is definitely a five star property and my husband and I look forward to returning.

Luxury Mountain Home

Two girlfriends and I enjoyed ourselves for a weekend getaway. We each had a room to ourselves with king size beds. The host was extremely helpful and responsive! We were able to find a car service to get us to and from downtown, and we walked to the Whiteside Mountain Trail for a small hike. We would all return in a heartbeat!

High Praise for the High House!

Top Notch Experience!

We've been vacationing in the Highlands area every winter for the last 6 years. This was by far our best experience yet. The house was very comfortable and well maintained. The drive getting to the house wasn't treacherous. The property manager was very accommodating and made the whole process incredibly easy. We highly recommend The High House!

Fall Get-Away

This is a beautiful home with a gorgeous view off the deck. It was immaculately clean, and the host responded to our questions and requests very quickly. However, the fireplace on the deck didn't work, and since that was one of the main reasons we chose this place, we were very disappointed. The host told us it had been acting up and that he would see if it could be put on the schedule to be fixed, but it wasn't fixed while we were there (for 3 nights). As a result, we didn't use the beautiful deck as much as we would have liked to. It seems to us that the fireplace should have been in working order before we arrived. Check out was very easy, we just had to take the trash out and close the door behind us. As I said, it is a beautiful home, and the manager was very quickly responsive.

Gorgeous mountain house!!

This was our second time enjoying the High House - another amazing experience!! We spent a lot of our time on the porch beside the fireplace overlooking the gorgeous view (the porch even has heaters). This luxury mountain house was designed for the ultimate relaxation experience. The kitchen is also fully equipped with everything you need. The beds are very comfortable too. Lee is the best host and always answered all questions promptly. We can’t wait for our third trip!

Property had everything. It would have been nice to have some written instructions. The door was open and still not sure how to get in with a code. Don’t think I ever got one. Property was the best that we have ever rented and we will return.
