  • Property is a boaters dream! Beautiful updated waterfront home in Hemphill, Texas with boat ramp within walking distance, a secure and private covered boat dock with deep water access and lights, electricity, & a swim ladder. Property is on a great recreational cove on Toledo Bend perfect for boating, tubing, fishing, kayaking, and no stumps and across the bay from a nice little beach at Lost Frontier campground. House has High speed reliable internet provided in this spacious 3 bedroom home sitting on a very private half acre wooded lot with with great water views. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to make yourself at home including a Keurig and coffee pot. Enjoy mornings on the secluded balcony. Pots, pans, crockpot, air fryer, pizza oven, and everything you might need to cook full meals, quick snacks, and a gas grill is furnished. Located right over the Pendleton Bridge on the Texas side and very close to the Lake House restaurant and Lost Frontier restaurant, fishing pier & beach, and Fisherman’s Galley if you don’t feel like cooking. A short drive to Hemphill and Toledo Town for great BBQ at Hemphill BBQ & homemade pies, groceries, banking, and across the street from Keith’s Bait & tackle for fishing supplies. All linens, towels, beach towels, and starter set of toiletries and laundry, cleaning supplies, garbage bags, etc. are provided. Comfortable sleeping for 10 total guests. There are 6 total beds in three large downstairs bedrooms (1 queen bedroom, 1 queen bedroom and a bunk room containing 2 full beds and 2 twin beds). Two of the bedrooms have smart TVs for streaming entertainment and the bunk room has a smart TV & Nintendo gaming system. Family room upstairs includes 2 large sectionals for ample seating inside, a large smart tv, surround sound, and a faux fireplace. The upstairs balcony contains a Weber gas grill, a patio dining set, 4 rocking chairs, and a large dog kennel to accommodate your pet outside on the upstairs balcony with child/dog gate. Pets ARE NOT allowed inside. Downstairs porch includes a porch swing and many Adirondack chairs for patio seating and a fire pit available for fires responsibly managed. Just bring yourself and those you want to relax with on the water. Stop looking for the perfect lake house - this is a SHORE THING!

    FOR AN ADDTIONAL FEE OF $75 per stay, we have 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards, a large water mat, and 4 adult life jackets available to RENT and USE during your entire stay. A waiver of liability and separate agreement need to be signed. Please message me for details.

Great place! Kids really enjoyed having the dock to swim and hangout. Very easy to get in and out of property by boat or vehicle. Everything you could possibly need is close by.

Great house on Toledo Bend. Very convenient location with stores and restaurants nearby. We loved using the boat dock to the leave our boat in the water. The house is well equipped with all of the essentials for a home away from home. Plenty of space to park trucks and boat trailers. The owners really have thought of everything. We will definitely be back.

Had a very nice stay this weekend. The cabin was very clean and had eveything we needed. Such a cute and peaceful scenery. The neighborhood was friendly yet kept to themselves. We really enjoyed the dock where we were allowed to leave the boat when not in use.

Fishing trip

Beautiful place with boat dock. Enjoyed fishing the lake and having a place to dock our boat. The house was great and the balcony on the 2nd floor with table.and chairs was excellent place for meals and wildlife watching. Certainly did enjoyed this place.

Perfect Getaway

This place was more than what we expected. Pictures don’t do it justice. It was the perfect getaway for our little family and very accommodating. The boat dock was a huge plus for us, being able to leave our boat in the water the whole stay. As well as the private back yard. Plenty of space for the kids to play. Love how it’s tucked away with no view of neighbors. Amazing host with very quick response. We will most definitely be back !!

Great location near local fishing and tackle spots. Between to close parks to take kids swimming. House was clean and cozy. A market basket was about half a mile away. Had stuff for children to keep entertained. Will definitely stay here again

Was absolutely perfect for our family of 10!

Everything was amazing! The host answered all of our questions before our stay almost instantly and without hesitation. The only thing that could have made it better, would have been a ladder on the boat dock to get out of the water for people swimming. Overall it was amazing!

Restful stay

A great place. Very happy we stayed here. We have stayed at many different vrbo's around the lake area. Other places we have stayed, haven't always turned out to be what we were expecting. We found this listing to be completely accurate and what you see in the listing is what you get. We loved the location, privacy, lake access and boat launch. The owners are great and easy to reach.

This has been one of the best VRBO listings that we have ever stayed at. It had more than we ever anticipated. All we needed was food and clothes. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. I would 100% recommend to anyone looking to have a quiet getaway!!

Peaceful home on the lake

Had a enjoyable stay at shore thing. The property was well kept up inside and out. Recently updated with nice features made it feel like a brand new home. Had everything available in the kitchen and batch that we needed for our three night stay.Beds were comfortable and had plenty of room for four adults and two kids. Plenty of room for parking even with a boat or two. Easy access to neighborhood boat launch which was also nice and maintained. Nice dock with electricity and covered boat slip. Doesn’t get much better than this place and can’t wait to go back.

Best Rental Experience Ever

We have nothing but compliments for Amy and her cozy rental property! It’s an absolutely lovely property. It was very clean and had all the amenities needed for a wonderful getaway. It’s very spacious and all the extras like playing cards and gaming system was a great addition. My grandson loved it. The neighborhood is so quiet and the boat launch was literally a couple minutes away. We will definitely be repeat renters! Thank you Amy!!

Shore Thing - For Shore!

This is a very nice home, and the property is somewhat private with woods lined on each side of the property line all the way down to the dock. The first thing you wanna do is just get out of the vehicle and stand in the backyard looking at the lake. Well maintained property and home. Very nice Kitchen and appliances ,has been updated recently and had everything we needed. We enjoyed eating out on the balcony, where there is a table and plenty of comfortable seating. I brought my boat, the boat dock with boatlift was a big plus, and you don’t have to worry about tying up the boat too much. It is protected from the wind here. Sleeping at night was very comfortable and quiet. Living room has large TV with plenty of channels to choose from, Wi-Fi was great to use since phone service can be somewhat challenged in East Texas. Everything about this booking and using property was easy and minimal communication to the host was needed. Thanks

A relaxing stay, not for the adventure seeking

The house itself was very enjoyable. There was ample space for our group of nine and we really enjoyed the large living space to not feel cramped. While eating outside on the wrap around porch is nice sometimes, it's impossible for the entire group to eat together, especially inside. While the listing states that there's only one bathroom, I must have skipped that when reading the home was fit for ten people. While we made it work, it definitely made the weekend more challenging. The dock was nice for fishing, but I wouldn't recommend swimming. The water plants are more overgrown than the pictures show, which can happen with seasonality, but it didn't feel safe to swim without getting legs caught and the plant life brought a plethora of turtles. Be warned if you plan to fish that you'll catch so many turtles too. This location is great if you want a relaxing weekend to sit by a fire or play games like charades inside and is super close to the bridge to get over to Louisiana. But I wouldn't recommend this lake as a vacation destination as there isn't even boat rental places nearby, you need to bring all your own stuff. That's not on the property, just affected our overall weekend. Overall, I would recommend this home, we felt very comfortable and safe.

This house was a perfect setting for our lake getaway. The house is perfect for a family of 10, spacious living room, gorgeous kitchen equipped with every thing you need. Large bedrooms with the most comfortable mattresses. You have direct access to the water and it’s a beautiful view from there sitting in the chaise lounge chairs. We caught a lot of fish and for a small fee gained access to some water toys. I would recommend this home 100% if you are looking for a perfect lake vacation.
