Located only 10 minutes (by foot!) from downtown Clayton is your private wooded retreat. A charming 2 bedroom home with large front porch with space to relax and recharge. All the amenities and an amazing location make this the perfect spot for a quick getaway or a leisurely vacation.
Living room, dining room and kitchen are an open floor plan with comfortable spaces for relaxing, dining and cooking up a great meal. Large screen TV with netflix, amazon and hulu as well as DVDs galore - plus a record player with plenty of vintage vinyl. Lots of puzzles, books and games are in the dining room and of course fast Wifi.
Kitchen is equipped with new appliances and all the plates, cookware and accessories you could need including Nespresso machine for lattes and espressos. Plenty of pantry space if you plan a long vacation. No dishwasher, but double sink makes dishwashing easy, not to mention the great view of the private back yard from the sink.
Rear bedroom has two comfortable twin beds with memory foam mattresses. Front bedroom has new king bed with memory foam. Both bedrooms have dressers and large closets.
Bathroom has shower tub combo, single vanity and new commode.
Front porch is screened with space for dining or relaxing. Views of front yard filled with azaleas and greenery. Rear yard is accessible from dining room. Lots of space to explore, watch for deer or listen to woodpeckers. Set up your hammock and find the perfect resting place.
Dogs are welcome with prior approval and payment of pet fee.

The location was perfect for getting into town. We were happy it wasn't on top of one of the very steep mountain sides!!! It felt very homey the way it was decorated. We loved using the record player and listening to a variety of albums. It was nice also that we were able to bring our dogs with us. Once again FANTASTIC location and very private.

The location and house was great. Short walk or drive to town and close to hikes. Unfortunately we could not get WiFi during our entire stay and with little to no cell service that was a bummer and also stressful since we were away from our kids. Host was responsive on that but there was no fix. There was also a pile of linens left on top of the bed and a used towel still in the bathroom from a prior guest.

We have stayed at this property before. Love that is close to downtown Clayton, even though you feel like you are secluded in the woods. The kitchen is well equipped, even though we never cook! The only issue we had this time, was that the wi-fi went offline several times. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice little house. Perfect for a couple or those with 2 children. Very clean. First night a herd of deer walked through the back yard. We thought it was one of the best places we've stayed. Even though it's surrounded by trees and feels like being in the forest, it's only 5 minutes from downtown and all the shops and restaurants. One caveat, a lot of restaurants and shops are closed on Tuesdays so plan ahead.

Great place to stay

We had a great time at the Rabun Retreat. Everything was as described in the listing. The property was very clean and fully equipped with lots of towels and kitchen utensils. The house was very nicely appointed. The best thing is the price. you won't find another property this nice for this price.

Cozy Clayton Cottage

This was our second stay at this property. The house is so conveniently located to downtown, so privately surrounded by trees & bushes, & the decor is lovely. Enjoyed our stay & will return every time we visit Clayton!

An adorable cottage that is private. Deer visits are so special and it’s in walking distance to the quaint downtown. I couldn’t have been more relaxed in this charming cottage. The owners are great and respect your privacy .

Private and quaint Oasis

I had the pleasure of staying here for a few months while my home was being renovated right down the street. It was perfection!! It’s an adorable cottage that is nestled in the woods with visits from deer that of course bring peace. It was great to open the door and bring the fresh air in from the screened porch. Even the rock driveway running through the trees had the most beautiful soft green moss . It’s was fabulous!! The host is exceptional and very kind.

Nice area, very peaceful

Not much of a yard,mainly leaves and vines. Tv in main room would never work by directions, bedroom tv work good, washer was very noisy.house was very clean and furnished well. The screened front porch was amazing, very relaxing. Thanks for the stay.

The home had everything you could need. The property manager was very responsive. 11am check-out was nice surprise. Beds very comfortable. Firepit and grill were great. Just a great little town nearby, while still feeling like you're in a very remote area.

Retreat in the city

What a great spot! The house is in a somewhat community setting, but set off the road in the woods, so feels very secluded. We were easily within walking distance to mainstreet. A great way to have a quiet place to relax and sleep with access to the city of Clayton, and all the near by parks and national forest areas. The space itself was comfortable for 2 people and 2 smaller pups. I look forward to coming back again!

2nd time we have stayed here while we were racing our JRT’s at the Rabun county Arena. Property is well maintained. Gives you that woodsy feel but is in walking distance to downtown Clayton.

April 19-21

This is our 4th stay at this rental and as always, it is just what we need. Close to everything but peaceful and quiet. It also has everything you need to prep for meals, make coffee and sit out under the trees and listen to nature. It is clean and perfect for our weekend stays. Will rent again for our next trip to Clayton.

Cute and perfect location

Property was great, neat, clean, and quiet. Close enough to downtown to walk when we wanted, but also far enough to drive and not feel bad about it. Haha. Will stay again in the future.
