Cosy and secluded holiday home

Come and relax in our cosy, bright and secluded holiday home and fill your days with all the activities that this lovely area has to offer. If you fancy a run around bring your tennis rackets and your A-game and enjoy a game on the community tennis court. If fishing and lake activities are your thing launch your boat for free from the boat ramp and enjoy a day on the lake. There are amazing walks along the Hinemaiaia River and the fishing in the river is world famous. It is only 20 minutes drive to the thriving city of Taupo for a hit of coffee or a spot of shopping and Taupo is jam-packed with activities and attractions to suit everybody. Drive for an hour and you could be carving it up on the Whakapapa ski field.

At the end of the day maybe you fancy a wander down to the lake front to take in the majestic sunset or get the BBQ cranking, and enjoy a glass or two while sitting out on the fabulous big deck reflecting on what a great day you have had and what a beautiful place Hatepe really is.
Special conditions:
Smoking allowed outside only. Pets allowed - a dog kennel is
provided. (Please ensure dogs are kept on their lead at all times around the village).

NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; Bring your own linen (towels/sheets/tea towels);

We had an amazing time!Beautiful place and location was paradise.Very peaceful.So relaxing and quiet, great also for our old dog.Short stroll to bush setting and stream with tables and benches for picnic/fishing/swimming.1 suggestion maybe for future guests is to state (maybe in capitals) that you need to bring your own linnen etc.It was mentioned, but we missed it and I saw in the guest book that more people missed it as well.As we where traveling we only had towels with us and had to buy sheets etc.We loved it though, so big thank you for letting us stay!!!Wil/Cora/Jess

Love Hatepe

We always have a wonderful time at Hatepe, and the location of this bach is great. It had all the essentials we needed for our holiday at the lake, and also a large, private outdoor dining area which we loved.Thanks! We hope to return next Summer!

Lovely retreat

Comfortable bach with all the necessary things. We thoroughly enjoyed the fireplace, especially during the cold nights. Good value for money. Grateful its pet friendly. Would recommend it.

Ideal relaxation spot

Fully kitted out for familys, groups, being able to take our dog was a bonus ,comfy and cosy ,closeness to the lake and river strolls was great .would love to visit again .Highly recommend.

Great weekend away

A really nice spot, with a real homely feel. Loved being able to bring my dog on holiday! Has everything you need for a nice time away. Games are mostly kids ones, would be nice to have some extras. But enjoyed the book about the local history a lot! We knew there wasn't wifi, but didn't expect the cell coverage to be so poor - so don't plan to hotspot as a backup. Even though there is a cell tower at the enterence to the village, we struggled to get any internet at the house. All in all, a great weekend away, thanks!
