Vacation home at the foot of Himmerod Abbey in the Vulkaneifel Nature Reserve

Our vacation home is located in the small village of Himmerod near Grosslittgen. There are 8 houses there, as well as a large abbey. The rest of the area consists of forests for hiking, ponds for fishing, and the small Salm River, perfect for relaxing and listening to the water. The hiking trails start right at our house, as does a trout pond run by the fishing club—where you can buy day passes—and, of course, Himmerod Abbey with its cultural and spiritual programs. The village also features a monastery bakery, a restaurant serving Eifel cuisine (Graf Zils)—family-owned for about 200 years—as well as a gourmet restaurant about 500 meters away and a wellness area that can be booked with day passes (both at Molitors Mühle). In 15 minutes by car, you can reach numerous Eifel attractions (Manderscheider Maar, castles, the Volcano Museum), as well as the nearest “big city,” Wittlich, for shopping,
