This review is based on having a poor experience and we would not recommend renting this unit based on the events described that follow:
We have stayed in the Homestead and rented places annually for over 10 years...and this was the first time we had such a disappointing experience.
When we arrived there were no window coverings on the master suite windows—the 1st floor windows facing the parking lot and walkways. This was supposed to be a retreat room for our friends who came up with us...and they had no privacy! We immediately contacted everyone we could. Finally, the second day, after continued calls, it was resolved.
We also tried to get the small and only TV to work for almost 24 hours but we couldn't because the cable wasn't working!
No one we called, over and over, (owner, owner's sister, Vacasa 1 800--, Vacasa "local" mngt., local tech person, local cleaner) was able to solve the problem for the first evening and next day.
A "technical" person showed up the second afternoon and told us the cable box was obsolete or discontinued and he couldn't fix it either. Finally, by the end of the second afternoon, our guest got the TV working by finding a ROKU box buried under items behind the TV and used OUR personal HULU Premium account to make it all work. Without that account, we would not have had a working TV the entire stay.
Vacasa management reimbursed us $100 which is an unacceptable amount based on the price of renting this unit and they are not responding to our requests for greater reimbursement.
These events ruined our whole experience and cost us a lot of time trying to fix the issues instead of vacationing. We, like any renters, would expect at the least a working TV and window coverings on a main bedroom. This unit was not adequately prepared to an acceptable standard. Whether you call it negligence or mismanagement it ruined it for us.
