Location and ocean view is FANTASTIC, kitchen is well-stocked, home is clean and there’s plenty of room for everyone. But the description of the layout - despite my efforts to further clarify with Vacasa (also confusing because I expected VRBO but Vacasa wanted me to install and use their app for communication) - was not clear on VRBO. Of course it’s Galveston so we expected to climb some stairs, but my family was vacationing with my two 85-year-old parents (both of whom have mobility issues) so I wanted the “main living space” - including kitchen and family seating - on the lowest level. It turned out only the bedrooms were on that lower level. My poor parents were so exhausted after the long process of getting them all the way up the staircases to the top level that they never came down until we left! Don’t get me wrong, the view from the top level is amazing - and they thoroughly enjoyed it - but we wanted to get them out on the beach and go out and eat seafood and such (not an option with all the stairs). I asked Vacasa to please have VRBO update the listing, because I would have also been concerned about all the extra stairs back when my kids were little. Otherwise it was a FANTASTIC STAY!

Before booking, it took days before straightforward questions could be answered and when we needed them the most (locked out at check-in) and after 1.5 hours of waiting for 'local support' that never came, we were finally able to get in on our own before nightfall. This property has BLACK MOLD on the ceiling above the main floor dining area. You can see where there are multiple layers of paint to mask it.Because of said mold, the house has a dank, moldy smell where doors must remain open for fresh air. You are not allowed to open most windows in this house. Of those that do not head a warning, you will be incapable of opening.Stickers are so heavily prevalent that it is genuinely not child or dog safe.There was no hot water at the kitchen sink. First floor bathroom - the tub facet comes off.First floor patio light didn't work.Multiple holes in the walls. Outdoor, ground level shower - zero water pressure.Trash in the backyard; chip bags, soda bottles, paper towel bits stuck in the stickers, and plastic bags.They lied about construction next door. Much of our trip was ruined because they did not disclose the proximity or truth about the disruption it would cause. Much of the house needs repair.

My wife and I took our (4) grown kids and my Parents (80 years old) to hang at the beach for the week of 8/22. The house was very beautiful, spacious, and clean upon arrival. The beach views from the balconies were amazing. The house was equipped with everything we needed for the week. The water pressure was great and the water heater was good. The AC was cold and worked great. The rooms were spacious and the beds were, well, they were as comfortable as can be expected. Before I rented the home, I read the reviews and of course there are good reviews to bad reviews. One review in particular spoke about the stairs, I thought they were complaining about the initial set of stairs being that the house is on stilts. However, the kitchen and living room were on the top floor of the house, so it was very difficult for my parents to traverse the stairs multiple times a day. There is an elevator, but it was not working (I did not call and ask about it). Overall, we had a wonderful stay making memories that will last a lifetime.

Decent stay, but won’t book again

Had to call for check in because the code wasn’t working. The living room TV and 2 of the bedroom TVs didn’t work. No vacuum cleaner available which is needed at a beach house with all the sand! A/C downstairs on first floor with most of the bedrooms not working properly. Elevator alarm went off at 745 am waking up all the children. Wasn’t a horrible stay, but would not book again!

This property has the potential to be a wonderful vacation spot. However, the lack of maintenance and attention to detail made our stay much more difficult than it needed to be. To start off, the 1st floor, where all but 2 bedrooms are located, was hot with very little air movement. When we asked about it, the company advised us “the first floor does not have ac.” When looking at the ac unit, we discovered it is rusted over. All other homes in the neighborhood have brand new, clean units. One of the queen bedrooms ceiling fan did not work (chain would not pull, almost like it was rusted close) as well as the ceiling fan in the living area. When we arrived there were crumbs all over the kitchen floor and stove. The coffee pot had not been emptied and the cabinets were completely unorganized. We had to rearrange to make room for our groceries. In the room with the bunk beds, there were dried contacts on the nightstand and the previous renters underwear on the floor. Almost as if no one even cleaned up or checked the room. Downstairs toilet does not refill on its own. The king bed is hard as a rock and was impossible to sleep well on. The dishwasher won’t start without an app we had to download. Our stay was good because we made the best of it, but for what we paid, it should have been great. If you are looking to stay on Sunny Beach, choose one of the better maintained properties with owners who pay more attention to detail. This one is disappointing.

Issue with lock on door had to be resolved multiple times as we had to wait for help on phone. Outside shower ran constantly and when they tried to fix it, they turned off entire house water supply. Overall not a great experience unfortunately.

Steps and more steps

House was great but lots of steps. As we were celebrating 2 80th birthdays, carrying all the stuff up and down the steps was difficult for us. I knew steps would be involved but seemed more than on photos. Once up it was great! Thanks!

Beautiful beach house

5/5 for the house, very clean, plenty of towels, right on the beach. 4/5 for the water. It was lukewarm for the majority of the stay. Informed the people in charge through VRBO. Each time someone different responded. Nothing was done with the water. Last night took an icy cold shower. Other than that our stay was very nice.

Beautiful beach house

Wry nice, spacious, and clean beach house! Lots of stairs, so be ready for your workout, but worth it when you get up to that view from the living room. Could not get in with the code I was sent, but the host was quick to fix the problem. Definitely recommend this property.

Family beach getaway

This house was great for our large extended family--fourteen people (the youngest is nine and the oldest are in their seventies) plus a little dog. There was plenty of room and everyone was comfortable. The location was great and beach access was very convenient. Highlights: plenty of pillows and blankets, lots of beach towels, easy parking, smooth check-in/check-out, great views, tons of seating for a large group.

Great but 1 thing

Awesome location. Great house for fam to enjoy vacay at beach. Direct beach access. No vehicle traffic allowed on beach made for a nice environment. Only caveat is downstairs bathroom tile is very slippery when wet. I would think owner may want change this for liability purposes.
