Julia and Alice's house, a Home in Madeira

As we step into Casa da Julia e Alice, soon we realize what a true home is made of. It is composed of harmony, comfort, small nooks, cosy blankets, hot tea, and a very home away from home environment. Decorated by a Madeiran architect, Sara Luís Gomes, combines a contemporary décor with natural materials, where the elements of wood, rattan, and linen offer the feeling of warmth and the smell of cosiness. As we go through the property, it is clear that there was a great concern in the details and selection of the materials, colours, and textures, in order to provide their guest an experience of serenity and exploitation of the five senses.

This accommodation stands out for the several nooks and reading corners throughout the house, in the bedrooms, living room, balconies, and kitchen. Their guest will create memories, peals of laughter, strengthen relationships, or a long evening of chatting away.

The apartment is 100 m² and comprises a bedroom with a double bed (1.6 x 2.0 m) and another with two single beds (0.9 x 1.8 m), a living room with a dining table, kitchen, two bathrooms, and balconies. It is equipped with a refrigerator, washing machine, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, coffee machine, and other utensils, as well as bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi (200 Mbps), TV with international and children's channels, and other amenities to ensure a pleasant and relaxing stay.

The building offers private parking and a swimming pool.



NOTES

The pool is not heated, but is open all year round and can be used weather permitting.

There is a street in front of the building where there is potential for traffic noise, mainly during the day and if windows are left open.

Due to the island's climate, insects may unexpectedly occur. To avoid attracting insects, it is important to clean up food scraps and keep food well wrapped.

It is recommended that people sensitive to mosquito bites use insect repellent when travelling around the island.

Cleaning is carried out before guest arrival and then weekly maintenance cleaning is performed, which includes changing bed linen and towels.

An increase in the number of guests implies a price increase of up to 10% per person.



LOCATION

The property is located in a residential building in the main tourist area of Funchal.

Within a short distance, there are restaurants, cafés, bakeries, shops, supermarket, hairdresser and other services. It is 950 metres from Praia Formosa, 1300 metres from the Doca do Cavacas ocean pools and 2000 metres from the Lido Bathing Complex.

The property has easy pedestrian access to the surrounding area, bus stops and is easy to drive to and from the main road axes.

The airport Aerobus has a stop 350 metres from the building entrance.



CONDITIONS

1. Parties and behaviours that disturb the peace and well-being of neighbours are not permitted, particularly between 22:00 and 08:00 when neighbourhood noise is prohibited.

2. An online check-in form will be sent to collect essential identification data for check-in, arrival time and means of transport, which must be submitted by guests at least two days before arrival.

3. For in-person check-in, it is necessary to schedule the time and the waiting time is 60 minutes, after which a new time slot may be scheduled according to our availability.

4. Guests may be asked to present an identification document upon arrival and to provide missing identification data to comply with legal requirements.

5. Any damage, incidents or cleaning failures must be reported as soon as they are detected so they can be verified and addressed promptly during the stay. Problems reported late merely for the purpose of obtaining a refund will not be considered.

6. Guests must inform about allergies, constraints or special needs before or shortly after booking so that compliance can be verified and appropriate measures taken.
