Chain O' Lakes Waterfront Getaway Home

Over the past twelve years, we have successfully hosted guests at our two other vacation rental properties in Puerto Rico. We are now using that knowledge base to provide you a seasoned experience at our newest property (a bit closer to home) here in Fox Lake. This beautiful 2 bedroom-one and one and half baths home has all the features you could want in an escape to the lake.
We have two bedrooms and a loft area. One bedroom contains a kings sized bed, the other a queen sized bed and the loft area has four twin beds. Additionally there are two sofas in the living room area that make into queen sized beds.
We have over 250 feet of lakefront property located on a private canal where you can swim or fish peacefully. The main and open body of Lake Pistakee is the largest of the Chain O' Lakes with an area of over 1,700 acres and is only a mere 50 foot trip down our canal. This is your gateway to the larger access of the greater Chain O' Lakes area. Enjoy fishing, swimming, tubing, water skiing, kayaking, canoeing or a tranquil moonlight cruises on the water. Dine at one of the many area restaurants that also provide boat access, enjoy a horse ride at one of several nearby stables or look into the amenities of one of the numerous marinas.
Book a round of golf at one of three nearby courses.
Spend a day at Chain O' Lakes State park where you can hike, fish, ride an equestrian trail, go metal detecting or hunt during season.
But wait, this home isn't just for warm weather activities. When the beauty of winter arrives, you can ice fish on our canal, snowmobile, cross country ski or snow ski at a nearby resort.

Best vacation

This mini vacation was amazing! The host Deborah was very friendly and responded in a reasonable time when I had questions. The house looked exactly as it did in the pictures, and was stocked greatly with supplies. The yard was huge and beautiful, along with the deck with the beautiful view of the deck. We were even able to dock our pontoon there for the time we were there. All my friends and family that came to visit and celebrate my birthday even complimented the house. Very well kept and I definitely would book again!!

Peaceful and Quiet Stay

The house was impeccably clean, the kitchen well stocked equipment-wise with even some spices and other extras . The canal view that expanded to the larger lake was lovely. All the amenities provide for a lovely getaway .

Great start to summer seadon

Fully enjoyed this lakehouse. Being pet friendly our dogs loved the yard, and learned that they like lake life. Everything about this house was wonderful and my wife, her parents and myself loved every minute of our stay.

Weekend getaway

Our second time staying at this beautiful lakeside home and we had such a wonderful time.We bbq, fished, enjoyed the beautiful view and at night sat around talking enjoying the firepit. The home is clean and stocked with essentials, the owner responds in a timely matter and the neighbors are so very friendly. We will definitely be staying here again.

Great place to stay!

I stayed here visiting family in Fox Lake and this is a wonderful place to stay. There are a lot of things to do right on the back yard! But, if you feel like staying in, there are plenty of TV’s available and o appreciate that!

Best yet

We rent from VRBO at least twice a yearthis by far the best rental we’ve had in quite a while. The house clean and spacious, beds were comfortable. The view from the lake was great. The neighbors are great. It wasn’t a negative thing I could say about it we had a blast. We will be returning that’s for sure.

Great Home for a Getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming lake home! My husband and I chose here for our yearly June fishing trip and we chose well! The house is very spacious, clean and has all the essentials we needed. We used the barbeque nightly for our dinners, which worked out great! We spent majority of our time on the dock fishing- in which we were very successful! We caught catfish, bluegill and bass- some were very large in size! (They are still in the lake, we didn't keep them!) It was enjoyable to see the constant parade of boats floating by, too. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone to stay at, and I'd love to stay here again next year! It's a truly great escape!

"Stress Annihilation"

Most of all, we loved the tranquility, and the view was a major reason for the tranquility. Looking across the lake, all the way from left to right, all we could see was peace. Furthermore, all three nights, we saw beautiful sunsets over the water. We loved the wildlife, including herons, ducks, geese (there were two mother geese, each followed by several very young goslings), and the occasional splashing fish. The boaters were all careful to avoid noise and wakes. The bed was very comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed to do our own cooking. We even cooked steaks on the charcoal grill one night. To fully explain the title that I gave to this review, on our first full day at the property, we canceled our plan to explore the region (e.g., visit the Volo museum, do some antique shopping, and such activities). Instead, we chose to stay. We sat in the front room enjoying the view, reading, watching the fishing boats, and listening to the birds. There was no way that stress could penetrate the bliss. Would we book another stay at this VRBO? Put it thus way: we are already looking into our Fall schedule. Would we recommed this VRBO to others? I think this review just did that.

Beautiful vacation home

My husband and I had a nice, quiet stay. We fished off the pier, had our meals on the deck, while our dog laid around basking in the sun. The neighbors next door were very friendly as were the boaters passing by always offering a friendly wave. The house is roomy, beds were pretty comfortable and kitchen and bathroom were conveniently stocked with necessary items. We would definitely stay here again.

Lake gem

Awesome place to stay. Was perfect for our family to stay after our son graudated from Navy bootcamp. The grounds are really beautiful and peaceful. Lots of birds and critters outside. The host Deborah was great to work with.

Blissful getaway for our family (4) and pup

We had a lovely 4 night stay at Debora's home. The house was very clean and attractive. We often ate out on the deck because it was so pleasant. The house is located on a peaceful canal but very close to the open expanse of lake Pistakee. Every night a blue crane flew low across the water and landed on the neighbor's pier. The deck has gates at the base of the stairs so we felt comfortable letting our pup come and go from the house to deck. The yard itself is not fully fenced so we kept her on a tether when she was with us. The beds were comfortable. Both sofas are comfortable sofa-beds (daughter used one). The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, kitchen tools, place settings, etc., although there is no dishwasher. There are plenty of linens and towels, including beach towels. There are games in the coffee table. The couch and Adirondack chairs on the deck are a comfy place to enjoy the lovely view. Debora was great at answering all our questions. Thank you, Debora, for a lovely vacation at your home!
