This dog-friendly house is perfect for your next getaway on the Oregon Coast. You'll be sure to feel right at home in Heceta Beach, with an inviting atmosphere inside the home and a wonderful location close to the beach. After a long day of exploring the coast, come home to comfortable furnishings, a flatscreen TV with a DVD player, and a fully equipped kitchen for easy meal preparation. Outside, you'll have a private gas grill with an outdoor dining area for family barbecues.

What's nearby:
The town of Florence is less than five miles south on Highway 101, where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll, visit shops, or grab a bite at one of the great local restaurants on Bay Street. This section of the coast also has several beloved attractions, including the famous Sea Lion Caves and Heceta Head Lighthouse. Or, go for a memorable hike on one of many trails at The Devil's Elbow State Park.

Beautiful secluded home close to beach access

We thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful property. It is secluded, private yet within walking distance to the beach. A few suggestions regarding supplies. The pan selection is challenging and the pans are such that food sticks to them making it difficult to cook. The cooking utensils, lack of utility scissors and lack of oven mitts is also challenging. Otherwise the place was perfect and we will definately return.

It was alright

The house had everything you would need but it was on the older side. Getting in was a bit frustrating because the keypad wasn’t working and we waited on hold a long time before we got it figured out. We loved Florence-dune buggy on the sand dunes, the sea lion caves and the beach was awesome.

Great place for a family get away

Our family enjoyed a great stay at the Cozy Cottage. The updates to the cottage made the stay easy. The beds were comfortable. It is an easy walk to the beach, yet felt secluded. We all gave a thumbs up to returning.

Perfect getaway

My husband and I wanted a quick trip to the coast with our dog and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect spot. The house is tucked into the trees making it private and romantic and great for our dog. We loved it!

Property should be condemned

This house is run down and filthy with plumbing issues that cause the tub drain to run down through the living room ceiling and lights, leaving us with no answer in what to do next. It’s check out day and haven’t heard back about the leaky ceiling still. Dirty moldy towels, grimey floors, sandy bed sheets, very dirty bath mats, couch filled with old food and has never been cleaned, and smells like old rotten meat. Happy 60th Birthday Mom! Glad I could show you what it’s like to live in squaller.

Nice private beach house

The property is private / secluded yet right close to the beach. It is as advertised except for things noted below. House has a nice feel, funky layout, and we would go again - but it's not a "homey" feel. Only one sectional couch in the main room. Each room felt a little cramped - including small bathroom(s). And it was just two of us. There wasn't anywhere to spread out and play games (perhaps a table/chairs could be put in the 'wasted space' of the entry way?). Every kitchen item needed was there, including paper towels. I think guests should be forewarned the beds are small. There are two double beds / not queen / and the trundle day bed is in the room with the best view (upstairs, facing beach). The other forewarning is that there is no access to the house without going up steps / and to get to bedrooms, you have to either go upstairs or down a few stairs. The wall heaters were quick and good warmth for rainy days. All in all, it's a nice place to stay. The wood on the walls is cool. There's plenty of parking and privacy. (We are not sure what animal knocked the garbage can over - the lid is locked tight - and "hauled" it over large rocks and uneven ground at least 30 feet to the bushes! Twice! Yikes!) Thanks for the nice stay!

Check in/check out

Everything was wonderful EXCEPT working with check in and out. I understand that cleaning crews need to get in as soon as possible but when the property is cleaned and your guest asked to get in a little early or stay an hour later and the answer is absolutely not, I feel that there could be some consideration. Especially in the winter. Also, again especially in winter, I think check in and out could be an hour earlier and an hour later. There is basically no time when you have to check out by 10.

Great stay

Perfect location for a Oregon Beach vacation. House was clean and was comfortable. Good for dogs with a nice almost totally enclosed secluded yard. Floors were uneven in the house but it was very minor point we noticed in our stay. Cant say it enough, perfect location for Hecata beach getaway.

Really lovely property and cozy home. Nice new appliances and updates. Only one bath/shower for up to six people to share. Bathroom off kitchen is just water closet with laundry. Floors were dirty upon arrival, not mopped thoroughly, kinda sticky. Everything else was quite enjoyable.

Nice house, poor communication and cleanliness

The house was a good size for our family, with a nice fenced yard for the dog. The downstairs toilet wasn't working when we arrived. After being on hold with Vicasa for 20 min my husband was able to fix it. There was no automatic dishwashing soap, so we had a make a trip to the store we didn't need otherwise. The floors were also dirty, which I probably wouldn't have noticed but having an 11 mo old that puts everything in her mouth, I ended up having to sweep when we arrived. There were also lots of ants. I wouldn't stay there again, and doubt I will stay at a Vicasa rental given that it was impossible to talk to a property manager.

Secluded Beach House ~ Minutes Away From Beach Access ~ 2.3 Mile Walk To Jetty & Back Via Beach

Prefect spot to unwind at the Oregon Coast. Check In was easy as text & emails were accurate. Literally right up the road from Driftwood Shores parking lot. Clean & Stocked with everything you need (coffee maker, pots, pans, BBQ, TV, strong WiFi, & Fireplace). Recommend getting Duraflame logs & Firewood from Fred Myers as it's cheap & easy. Washer & Dryer is a great option. Skillets could be updated to nonstick but the kitchen is fully stocked & equipped. BBQ is getting along in years, but had a wire brush to clean previously cooked meals & rust. There was even a full propane backup that we used. Refrigerator works great & is new.

Wonderful location and nice amenities

The living room and two decks were really great and we enjoyed spending a lot of time there. The bedrooms were very nice as well and my grandson loved the bedroom off of the upstairs deck. It was so close to a state park beach entrance we could walk there in about 3 minutes. Just wonderful. The house was clean except for the floors which are so dirty they're sticky. So I'm sure it has been an on-going issue. There's a sign by the door to take shoes off but after walking on the floor once, I kept my shoes on. It was pretty disgusting. Also, we were supposed to check in at 4:00 and after driving 8 hours were really looking forward to dropping off our luggage and getting to the beach. We had to wait until 4:15 for the cleaners to leave. That was very frustrating and there's no way we shouldn't have been able to drive right up at 4:00 and unload. So the home and location were wonderful. The owner needs to get a new cleaning service.
