3 bedroomed house with pool - a little bit of French tranquillity

This lovely house in the Charente Maritime department of Western France is perfect for those 'get away from it all' holidays whilst still convenient for shopping, restaurants, beaches, museums and historical sites as well a real flavour of french rural life. The views over the surrounding countryside and the Gironde estuary are stunning.
Comfortably sleeping 6 in three bedrooms with two bathrooms and a separate toilet, there is a spacious living room with dining area, a kitchen and a separate laundry room. Bedroom 1 has a double bed and ensuite bathroom (basin, bath and WC) Bedroom 2 has twin beds. Bedroom 3 has 2 2'6" single beds. There is a separate shower room with washbasin and also a separate WC. The living room and dining room area has a comfortable sofa and armchairs, dining table and chairs and a wood burner. There is wifi, a satellite TV, DVD player, a stereo CD player, a docking station for an Iphone 5, and books and games. The kitchen has all necessary cooking utensils, and there is a microwave, induction hob, electric oven and dishwasher. There is a washing machine in the laundry room. The house has just had air conditioning installed. The grounds are approx 1/4 acre and are completely fenced as is the swimming pool
The house is close to the beautiful Gironde estuary, and has stunning views over the vineyards and the estuary itself. It's ideal for couples and families (with kids)
The property is situated in a small hamlet with shops in nearby villages 3 kms away. Bordeaux is 100 km. La Rochelle approx 80 km. Own transport is necessary.
Please note that the swimming pool is open from June until the end of September.

Wir hatten zwei wunderbar ruhige Wochen, die Umgebung ist sehr schön und das Haus sauber und gepflegt. Die Hosts Jo und Blue waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Insgesamt nur zu empfehlen.

Wir haben zwei herrliche Wochen in diesem schönen Haus verbracht. Schon vor der Reise hatten wir netten Kontakt zu Jo, die uns am Ankunftstag auch sehr herzlich empfangen hat. Im Haus haben wir alles vorgefunden, was wir brauchten und gab es ein Problem, wurde sich sofort darum gekümmert. Wir haben uns sehr wohl und gut betreut gefühlt. Besondere Highlights waren der wunderbare Blick auf die Weinberge und die Gironde und natürlich der schöne Pool. Das Haus liegt sehr ruhig, aber doch zentral genug gelegen, um viele tolle Ausflüge in die Umgebung (Städte, Dörfer, Häfen, Strände etc.) zu unternehmen. Für uns war es rundum ein entspannter und erholsamer Urlaub und wir sagen VIELEN DANK an Jo und Blue

A week in peace

A wonderful house in a lovely and peaceful area with a great view over th Gironde. The pool is clean and well maintained. The kitchen is well equiped. Check in and comminication with Jo was extraordinary with lots of tips an explanations. We will come back!

Picture postcard among vinyards

Set among vinyards and sunflowers with a view of the Gironde this propery is indeed set in a piece of French tranquility. Jo was very welcoming and helpful on our arrival especially as our flight was delayed. The house had everything we needed including a fantastic pool. There was plenty to see and do in the region including a lot of nice villages including harbours, beeches, kayaking, sight seeing. My teenage sons who thought it was going to be too remote enjoyed the local way of life and did not want to leave at the end of our stay! Thanks Jo and Blue.

Un havre de paix

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette belle maison en plein coeur des vignes charentaises avec une jolie petite terrasse offrant une vue magnifique sur l'estuaire de la Gironde. Elle est parfaitement équipée et joliement décorée. Sa belle piscine privative est un atout majeur, surtout en période de canicule comme c'était le cas pour nous. Joanna et Blue sont des hôtes très gentils et ont tout fait pour que notre séjour se passe dans d'excellentes conditions. Ils ont toujours répondu plus que rapidement à nos demandes. Bref nous conseillons d'y aller sans hésiter !!!!

Fantastic rural hideaway with pool
