Enjoy a relaxing retreat in our secluded mountaintop getaway. Perched in the Blue Ridge Mountains, overlooking the Piedmont, this peaceful A-Frame cabin provides a break from life that is sure to recharge your batteries. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views from the expansive deck, while watching an array of bird life, and possibly visit with our other four footed locals. And don’t forget to follow @a_framed_view and tag your getaway views!

This unique modified A-frame sits approx 2800 ft above sea level and faces back over the Piedmont from SW Virginia.
An electronic door lock means direct access without having to pick up keys. Internet is sufficient for streaming etc and the whole house is heated with baseboard heaters and a wood burning stove.
The main floor with the classic A-frame vaulted ceilings, has a “great room” with a fully equipped kitchen, bar counter with 2 stools, dining table that seats 8 and a cozy living area leading out through sliding doors to the expansive deck with the stunning view.
There is also a separate large living room with plenty of seating, smart tv with Apple TV, a wood burning stove and two recliners poised to take in the view in comfort! Large sliders and glass windows allow one to feel really connected with the outdoors. And for those interested in seeing even further, there is a telescope and binoculars. In the cabinet next to the fireplace, you’ll find games and books as well as candles in case of a power outage.
The master bedroom with a queen bed and some clothing storage is off the kitchen and has a sliding door with access to a private deck & bench. The room has blackout curtains for those who like to sleep in, as well as a wall air conditioner. The full bathroom is en-suite with a generous curved walk in shower and single vanity! A limited selection of sample sized emergency necessities and full size shampoo, conditioner and body wash is provided.
The second floor boasts a spacious and light filled bedroom with a sliding door to a private balcony w/seating. The room also has clothing storage, wall air conditioner, a WC and a vanity. Under the bed is a toddler mattress and sheets are in the chest of drawers. (There is also a fold up toddler bed in the entry closet on the main floor.) Also on the second floor is a loft bedroom with a queen size bed, and a small desk for those who need to work remotely.
The large covered and uncovered deck has plenty of seating and a table for outdoor eating, a gas grill and firewood for the cold months. We love the fact that we are on the side of the mountain and benefit from the views but also have enough grassed area in front of the home to have a picnic, play frisbee or start your day practicing yoga with the sunrise!

We are always available by phone if our guests need anything.

The house is in a small gated community with large lots. There are areas to walk around the community including a small pond, dirt roads, and an historic cemetery. The neighborhood is quiet, and secluded, but accessible to most amenities within 20 minutes.

Thank you for reviewing these rules. Although this home is a vacation rental, it is also our personal vacation home. The rules may seem strict, but they are in place to protect your experience as guests, as well as our experience as hosts. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Early arrival or late departure is on a case by case basis, depending on the cleaners schedule. We need to allow the cleaning crew ample time to make sure the space is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized before the next stay.

Absolutely NO parties or events, gatherings, functions of any kind, loud music, excessive noise, offensive behavior, illegal firearms or weapons, illegal substances including narcotics, drug paraphernalia, fireworks, sparklers, or incendiary devices, and illegal activities.

Please note that this is a quiet and peaceful residential neighborhood. Kindly keep any music at a reasonable level and be respectful of our neighbors who are there to enjoy the tranquility of the surrounding nature. Any reports of excess noise could result in guests being asked to leave.

Security cameras are installed (legally) over the driveway and the deck; apart from security they help us keep an eye on the weather.

For insurance purposes, it's important that the # of guests match the booking. Other overnight guests not listed at the time of booking is strictly prohibited by them. If at any time you are expecting additional guests, please let us know prior. You are also responsible for any visitors that enter the rental property.

While this is a family friendly home, it is not child proof. If you have any children with you during your stay, please mind them at all times, especially on the interior stairs and in the further reaches of the property where it is more wild, and steep.

Please respect the home as if it were your own and leave it as you find it.

For makeup removal, please USE BLACK towels provided.

Kindly leave it in the SAME condition as you find it.

Report any issues, damages and breakages immediately.

Garbage must be tied tight and placed in the bin provided in the garage upon check-out. Strictly no trash is to be left inside or outside, and no outside garbage, recycling or general waste should be brought onto the property.

Smoking of any kind (includes vaping) is strictly prohibited in the home; if smoking outside, please pick up and dispose of all remnants.

Pets are prohibited for the safety of the next guests that could have allergies.

Gas grill is for your use - please make sure the gas is turned off and the grill cleaned before you leave.

Snow is common in winter, and the HOA try and clear anything over 6 inches as soon as possible. However, deeper snowfalls may take longer. Please prepare if you're traveling in the winter by checking in with us or weather.com using Fancy Gap.

Please only use candles in case of a power outage, and make sure they're attended.

Consequences relating to non-compliance of Codes of Conduct or House Rules include, but are not limited to extra charges, early termination, immediate eviction and further recovery action relating to any damage, loss or theft. Any breach may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement and a report lodged with the local authorities.

Location

The location is conveniently situated off the Blue Ridge Parkway, offering pleasant sights and a tranquil neighborhood. The house itself is in good condition. Communication was straightforward, although initially, we didn't receive any email details from seller/vrbo. However, after reaching out to the sellers for the address information, everything worked out well in the end. We will definitely consider revisiting in the future.
