Sequoia Cottage is a cozy, higher-end, loft-style cottage located in a desirable neighborhood of Eureka. Perfect for couples or a family with one or two younger children, this charming getaway was designed with the end user in mind. The living space is fresh and relaxing with stained concrete floors, while the all-new kitchenette features paperstone countertops, new appliances, and a great little breakfast bar. This home was designed and built using eco-friendly standards including blue jeans insulation, a tankless water heater, solar electric system, LED lighting, and an Energy Recovery Ventilator. All the woodwork was finished with Low VOC Brazillian Rosewood oil wood stain and all the paint is Low VOC.

This rental is centrally located in Eureka, the perfect home base for a Redwood Coast adventure. It’s less than 50 miles south of Redwood National and State Parks for incredible hiking opportunities, two-and-a-half miles from Old Town Eureka, 10 miles from Arcata and Cal Poly Humboldt, and just 24 miles from the gorgeous beaches in Trinidad. Closer to home, this home is also within walking distance of Eureka’s Sequoia Park and Sequoia Park Zoo.

Perfect for the Weeeknd

The Sequoia Cottage was a perfect place for my family and I as we found ourselves in Eureka for a funeral. It allowed us to have a sense of comfort and home in a more relaxed environment than a hotel room. Seemed to be so close to everything. Would definitely stay here again when we are in town.

Short Stay Weekend

My family and I were looking to taking my son to the Redwood Park Zoo for the weekend to celebrate his 3rd birthday. I found this beautiful little cottage and thought it a perfect fit and location! The check in process was a breeze and the alleyway had great access for unloading and loading up to leave. It was within walking distance to the zoo, especially for my 3 year old so that was super awesome. The cottage itself was very clean and comfortable. On the night we got back from dinner or after the day at the zoo, especially since it was rainy, some sort of background would have been nice. Not having a tv wasn’t a deal breaker, but it would have been nice. We played on our phones and tablets instead. Overall, the experience was great and this is somewhere I could see us staying at again in the future should we ever head back that way.

Perfect spot to stay!

This property was fantastic for our stay in Eureka! It was cozy, safe and super affordable. The property was walking distance from the zoo and the redwood grove and just a short drive from eateries. If we ever visit up north again, we’d love to stay again!

This was a nice little place for the price. Was in a bit of an obscure location as you had to walk down the alley to reach the gate to get around the back to the entrance. The walk to the park was not bad though. If staying for a short time in Eureka, this is not a bad option.

Perfect!

This was the perfect spot for our family! It has been about 7 months since our stay an our kids, 3 & 4, still ask weekly when we can go back to the "Yellow Cottage". Quiet location in town, the most beautiful walk to the zoo and hiking trails near by. Cottage was clean, well stocked, and felt very secure. We will be back!

Cozy and Safe Studio

This is a really nicely remodeled studio with a loft bedroom and pullout couch on the ground floor and a modern full kitchen. It's away from main streets in a quiet neighborhood but still in town and is in the back yard of a main house. It's not a space to hang out in—very small—but was great for my purpose, which was to have a safe, clean place to sleep while visiting my daughter. My only challenge was finding the place because my contact at the agency managing rental did not give me the instructions on how to find the house and it's kind of tricky. Luckily the owner of the house (who lives in the main house up front) was just coming home as I wandered the street looking for the entry and she was very friendly and pointed me in the right direction. As for the agency, they were very prompt in replying as well and gave ne the info they initially left out.

Adorable little loft house on the edge of a forest

We had a great trip to Eureka and the surrounding area. The property is on the edge of a beautiful redwood forest that you can wonder through looking for banana slugs and just admiring the beauty of the redwoods. The skywalk at the zoo right by was really fun especially for the kids. The beds were super comfortable and you can look out the sky window from the loft. Even the pull out couch was comfy for our two little kids. We cooked meals and played around the patio. The owners were very friendly and we recommend this place for a great get away. We had a wonderful trip!

Perfect for a small family

The rental was great and had everything we needed. Owner was helpful and friendly. It is small but you do not need much more than that for just sleeping. Our two kids (3 and 4) fit perfectly on the pull out couch. Overall was a great experience! Would recommend and would stay here again.

Wonderful

We loved how close it was to the Sequoia Park and Sequoia Park Zoo! The property itself is super cute neat tidy interesting and most importantly served it’s purpose perfectly. We really enjoyed the fact that there wasn’t a TV. This might be an issue for you or your family but you have your phones tablets etc. TV really isn’t necessary. The heating system is wonderful too. Gotta love nice toasty floors! We did have a little bit of issue because of a simple misunderstanding/reading upon entry but the property owner was there right away to help and that was totally our misunderstanding/reading not a lack of communication etc. Do be careful on Google Maps because it will lead you on an unnecessary super rough road after the first drive there you’ll figure out it’s very easy to avoid.
