Always wanted to stay on an Island, Cabin Beaver is for you. Sunrises are amazing, peaceful except for the loons, geese, frogs, ducks, soft lapping of the water and sounds of breeze and occasional boats. Kayak and Canoe while exploring Green lake in Front and Boggy Brooke in back. A step up from camping. Hot water outdoor shower, lake water for dishes, Bottled water for drinking, Firepit, Small beach, Comfortable and Serene. Acadia for day trips is 20 miles, grocery and seafood stores 10-15 minutes. Special place for the right people.

This was absolutely everything we needed for our vacation. You can really relax and take in all the beautiful nature around you. It really was an island experience and so incredibly peaceful! Jack & Jennifer were great hosts. I can't recommend this place enough!

Absolutely wonderful stay! My husband and I, and our two sons, made some great memories. The location was perfect. Very peaceful - we loved the sound of the loons! The cabin was so cozy and nice. Very clean. We appreciated the use of the kayaks and canoes. The boys loved fishing and swimming. On a rainy day we watched movies and played games - all of which were provided. The outdoor shower was a fun addition. We will definitely be telling people about our stay. Thank you again for an amazing stay.

We had an amazing time at cabin beaver! It is a magical location with just the right amount of island living with all the amenities of home. I would highly recommend this to any family that is looking for an adventure while also enjoying a beautiful Maine lake.

Great place to unwind!

We had so much fun here. It was the perfect place to really unplug, start AND finish books, and forget where you left your phone :) We fished, watched fireworks, swam, and went boating. The hosts generously took us out on their boat to see more of the lake, and it was beautiful! Their dog was friendly and sweet, and our dog enjoyed playing with her. The cabin was cute and cozy and well-decorated. There were also plenty of spots to sit outside and read on your own, so it felt big enough for the four of us and our large dog to stay for a week. The swimming area has a large shallow section—perfect for kids. The boat ride from the mainland is very short and accessible, so while it is an island, it’s still convenient if you have to leave to get groceries, etc. It’s clear the hosts enjoy sharing their little island—they were so friendly and welcoming. A wonderful experience!

Highly recommend staying here!

Loved our stay at Cabin Beaver! Cannot say enough good things about our stay. We went into the week expecting a great time but this place exceeded all of our expectations. Cabin is very well kept and well stocked with all the essentials. Loved our evening and morning sits over looking the lake listening to the loons and watching the bald eagles. Would highly recommend staying here!

Amazing

It is beautiful and peaceful. Jack and Jennifer were amazing host. The island is beautiful. If you are a nature lover, this place is the best. Our dog loved being free and exploring. It’s the first time I’ve ever been at a rental and honestly didn’t need to go any place else. I am grateful to Jack & Jennifer for allowing us to make these unforgettable memories. God bless.

Peaceful Getaway

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend and brought our dog along to explore the island (off leash!) We had a great experience through and through. Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us. Everything was clean and exactly as expected. The cabin is well-appointed and very comfortable. The directions were very clear. One thing to note - the drive in on backroads is be quite bumpy at one point. We were fine in our SUV, but folks in a lower sedan should proceed carefully. Overall 10/10. Thanks!

Cabin Beaver

We were looking for some thing, adventurous, off the grid, unique, relaxing, and different! Cabin Beaver checked all the boxes and more! Our own island, canoeing to get to it, almost all the comforts of home, warm shower outdoors. It made my husband and I realize we still had adventure in us after 30 years of marriage! It was just what we needed!

Always Wanted to Stay on an Island

We have a great stay on the Isle of Regan. Thanks to warm welcome from Jack soon after we landed on the island, we were ready for our week's stay at the cottage. We enjoyed the company of the pair of loons, the merganser with her seven children, the family of beaver, the red squirrels and the multitude of birds on and around the island. Perfect location for all the hikes and kayaking we had planned for upper coast of Maine. Thanks to Jennifer and Jack for sharing their island with us!

stay in ellsworth

very beautiful but basically very little water at sink and no hot water at kitchen sink so had to bail water out of lake to wash dishes. cramped with other stuff and unorganized, so we had no place to put our luggage. shower outside the hot water rarely worked for both of us. bed upstairs is to cramp and unusable. host was told repeatedly and it was never fixed and we stayed 2 weeks. we had to wash our clothes and the sheets and their towels at local laundry mat. the outhouse that was not composing toilet was more of a potta potty which stunk and was quite a distance from cabin. bed in loft was horrible again was address with owner who are very nice but probably never run a VRBO before. we might stay there again but these problems cause me to get very little sleep. i did get to see the bald eagle and kayak to lake and lagoon but more like camping not glamping.

Unique & peaceful

My husband, miniature schnauzer and I had the best time at Cabin Beaver!!! Location - remote, secluded, peaceful, private, safe, easy to get to. Cabin - meticulous, well equipped, comfortable. The stairs to the loft are steep, but doable. Outhouse - spotless, odorless Outdoor shower - hot, great pressure, reliable, fun to shower outside Many activities to be had on the island and many spots to chill as well!! Coffee on the east side with the rising sun, early swims in the fog rolling off the water surface, kayaking the back marsh and exploring, bird watching, reading in peace on west facing deck, sunsets, firepit, grilling and cooking with ease. The owners, Jennifer and Jack, stay on the island, and are the best hosts. Friendly, but you never see them if you choose not to. Their dog River is an amazing dog and a good girl! She let our 20 pound schnauzer boss her around, and they both loved running around the island unrestricted chasing each other and exploring. Our dog had the time off his life being off leash the whole long weekend and we are so grateful for that! We will definitely be back, what a special place!

Dream Beaver

This little cabin and its gorgeous surroundings was exactly what we needed. It was spectacularly clean and tidy when we arrived. The hosts were out of sight unless we needed them, and then they were there to help. The wail of the loons at dusk and the reflection of the moon off the lake at night were icing on the cake.

Quiet Cabin Getaway

Everything was perfect. The hosts are great, very easy to communicate with and have thought of everything to make the stay feel comfortable. The cabin is clean, and has everything you need. The lake was also clean and the water was very warm to swim in. The canoe was a lot of fun. Will be back again!

Peaceful with lots of birds

The camp is very comfortable, neat, tidy and well equipped with everything I needed. It has great cross ventilation so the night air wafts through. I love an outdoor shower and the propane fired, on demand hot water worked flawlessly. The outhouse is well managed, with great air circulation. My cell service provided internet, but I spent a lot of time daydreaming and catching up on my reading. The canoe trip onto the island was a fun little adventure, without any problem and I also enjoyed kayaking and yoga in the early morning. I came to think of it as very deluxe camping with indoor sleeping and outdoor activities. It was a great little break to rest and recoup.

Magical Adventure for Kids

We had such an amazing time at Cabin Beaver! Fishing, canoeing and kayaking, seeing and experiencing all the wildlife, relaxing and playing together… the cabin had it all. Beautiful location in DownEast and close to everything Acadia has to offer, but returning to the cabin each day was a highlight for our young kiddos. Thank you so much Jennifer & Jack for this special getaway.
