Families will love the open living area featuring a vaulted ceiling and great deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. If spending quality family time is on the agenda, this home is perfectly outfitted with a full kitchen for meals and plenty of room for family activities. Shopping and restaurants are located only a block away. There will be no need to get back into your car to get any necessities during your vacation. Take a break and relax, and before long you will learn that good times are 'A Shore Thing.'

Per the Edisto Beach Police Dept, due to this home's location on Palmetto Blvd, golf cart(s) cannot be driven to or from this property.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 4 vehicles.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay watching the waves, sea birds, dolphins and sunrises. We loved the house layout and amenities! We did miss a teakettle as we are tea drinkers, but all was good.

Family Times Together

We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay at "It's a Shore Thing". It met all of our expectations...especially the fact of its location right on the beach! It was so enjoyable to sit on the deck and listen to the crash of the waves, watch the sunrise, and to see families enjoy the water. The kitchen had all that we had need of for our meal preparations. Even the table was large enough to have our meals together. The only recommendation would be to have more seating available for the back deck and maybe some beach chairs, umbrella, and sand toys. Thank you for providing such a wonderful place for us to enjoy our family!

Great location but worn

On the water but house needs minor maintenance and updates. The floor was the best part of the house to be honest. Bathrooms need some serious TLC, mattresses are worn, furniture is old and screens are either missing or have holes. If not for the location, I would not rent this house again.

Edisto Paradise

We had an awesome time! Ocean front location was perfect to all restaurants and The Grocery store. Weather was beautiful and cold. Our dogs enjoyed the spacious back porch and walks on the beach! The staff was great! We’ll be going back in the future!

Great location! Good layout, however, the house needs a lot of work. The ceiling fans need to be replaced. Water damage on ceiling visible in all rooms. Back porch furniture not safe to sit on. I hope they fix it up. It’s a good location!

Shell Seeker, fishing and boogie boarding

Property was adequate, does have some age and needs new refrigerator. Nice to have linens provided. Power went out on Friday and was out for several hours, but Dominion Energy did great restoring service. Nice to walk out front to beach. Within walking distance for food, groceries and sweet treats. Children loved riding waves on the water and fishing was good for Sheepshead fish.

Not a shore thing

Location was great for what we needed for a family reunion however the house was very outdated. The kitchen had rusted appliances and the bathrooms were very out dated. The closet and kitchen drawers were very cluttered and not clean. The washer and dryer were also rusty on the inside. Could also use a fresh coat of paint. The patio on the outside had a gate that wouldn’t stay locked which is very unsafe for littles. This could be a great place to stay if upgrades were made.

Great location, but in desperate need of TLC

You can't beat this location. But it is extremely overpriced, even given the location. We stayed in this house only because it was the last house left available on the beach for our selected week with family from out of state, and wanted to be beach front since we have children under two. I knew the house was "no-frills", but again, that's all that was left available. There are a few major concerns, including but not limited to the rusty, sharp nails poking out ALL OVER the beach front porch spindles, the dryer vent under the house being completely clogged (fire hazard), but in addition, the plumbing fixtures are in desperate need of replacement. The kitchen cabinets are very cluttered, yet somehow the kitchen is still ill-equipped. All needs to be emptied and replaced with basic, full sets of things. Luckily my parents have a home on the island and were able to bring larger pots for us. The permanent "dog gate" on the beach front porch was a plus with the small children, but we quickly found the lock is rusted and does not hold (again, not safe). The bedding is extremely dated, especially for something not washed, it should be replaced from time to time. All in all, it's a fine house. But you simply shouldn't charge that much for a house that needs SO many repairs and maintenance.

Old refrigerator, old stove, second or third hand washer dryer - dryer doesn’t dry btw. Lots of age showing in this house. Needs corroded door locks replaced and corroded faucets replaced. For the money they are charging, they could/should upgrade these things. Killed several roaches too. But hey, at least the AC worked.

Great Location

We enjoyed our stay at A Shore Thing. Location was great. I was worried about being close to Coots and the gas station but no issues with noise or traffic. House is comfortable, new living room furniture, comfortable beds and linens provided. There are televisions in each bedroom But they only have local network channels. Views are fantastic. There is no access to the beach from the house but the public access is only one house away.

Wonderful Oasis on the beach

I had never stayed directly on the beach before and this home blew my mind. It was comfortable, airy, and a wonderful place to overlook the ocean and sands when you wanted to get out of the sun.

A Great Location for a Great Vacation

You cannot find a better beach house in a more pleasant location. We thoroughly enjoyed our too short family vacation and will most certainly be back, as our exploration of Edisto Island was curtailed by the desire to 'hang' at the beach and this wonderful home!
