Ski in/Ski Out Condo in Main Plaza - Corner Unit - Views of the Slopes

Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath 1,280 square ft condo (Unit 405) in the Village Center building offers the ultimate convenience in winter or summer as it is located in the heart of Purgatory Village only steps from the primary high-speed lift to the top of the mountain, the Purgatory Express. Just like its namesake indicates, the Village Center is at the epicenter of the Durango Mountain Resort and Purgatory experience. There is no better location for your winter or summer adventures.

The condo is a corner residence offering great views of both the mountains and the ski slopes and is located on a single level on the 4th floor with elevator access and has two decks to enjoy the amazing views of the Needles Mountain Range, perhaps the most stunning and gorgeous array of 14,000 foot peaks in all of the Colorado Rockies.

The building features a hot tub on the roof with great views, a restaurant, 2 bars, an arcade, a slopeside deck, Purgatory’s ski school, the Purgatory childcare facility, 2 ski rental shops (one for high performance gear), and the resort’s premier shopping location, Purgatory Sports. With the deli right next door offering great sandwiches, breakfast, and light groceries, you truly won’t have to get in your car after you arrive. Note this condo does NOT have access to a ski locker.

For an optional 4% resort fee, you will have access to the Durango Mountain Club which includes an outdoor heated pool with slide, outdoor hot tub and workout facility. The 4% resort fee included in the quote is the required resort fee that must be charged and does not allow access to the Durango Mountain Club. When booking, just advise if you would like the extra 4% resort fee added.

Phenomenal Location - very poor check-in with front desk

I would have given this review 5 stars had it not been for the very poor and frustrating experience during check-in at the front desk. The Purgatory Lodge front desk and vacation rental company were not on the same page with our access cards for both the BUILDING and the POOL as well as a parking pass. We were not aware all of this was needed and made for a lengthy process after driving all day. There was a lot of calling back and forth with the vacation rental company and the front desk, making sure everyone was on the same page. It was also discovered the vacation rental company failed to contact me when my credit card did not go through for the pool access upgrade. It would've been nice had they let me know none of that went through instead of handling upon arrival. We also accidentally left some items at the condo and currently working with the vacation rental company to retrieve those items for us. I do feel like this would be a chance for them to redeem over the top customer service with us despite the check-in process. Bottom line: Condo was awesome, wonderful amenities, everything we need and perfect location/view. Only downside....and a BIG one for us was the arrival mishap with access cards for building, pool and parking pass. That all could've been avoided with some communication via text, email or phone.

Enjoyed enough to stay twice in five

We found the unit to be everything that we hope for. It was well equipped and the views of the ski mountain were incredible. I stayed there for two weeks with my wife then went back to Texas and returned for another two weeks with my friend to fish. I would recommend this unit to anybody who wants to have a fun time at a great location.

PROS:The property was as advertised. Very nice condo. A little dated, but well kept. Location was convenient. Beds we were comfortable. All TVs & appliances were in good working order. Setting was AMAZING. CONS: Dishes weren't clean, we had wash everything before we could use it. Needs better lighting in the bathrooms, too dark. The last night we were swarmed with gnats inside the condo, although the property manager can't be faulted for that.

The most perfect location!

We could sit on the patio, overlooking the village for hours. The scenic views were just stunning. The house was clean and well equipped. We liked staying up in Purgatory where it’s about 15 degrees cooler, and driving down to Durango or up to Silverton. In our opinion, it was the perfect location and centrally located to everything. We are already looking to come back soon!

Unit review

Location was great and unit was clean. This unit needs maintenance done on both bathroom faucets and shower heads. All are nearly plugged from mineral deposits and water flow is barely enough to wash hands. Unit also needs maintenance on kitchen cabinet doors and drawers. Lighting throughout the condo is insufficient.

Condo at Purgatory Resort - Village Center

Overall very nice condo with wonderful view and location. Condo was clean and had sufficient supplies, towels etc for our stay. Lighting was too dim in bedrooms and bathrooms, No charging USB ports. We couldn't find the Dining chandelier light switch. Shower head is clogged in 2nd bathroom. Master bedroom lights too high and too dim. View from windows is lovely. Beds were very comfortable and linens were clean and of good quality.

Perfect spot

Such a great location! Bedrooms and main areas are spacious and the balconies were wonderful! Make sure you bring cone coffee filters! There was one in the cabinet and no one sold them in the village. The Waffle Cabin is a MUST!

Great apartment style rooms

This suite had great views with nice furnishings and comfy beds. Liked having 2 working bathrooms for my family of 5. About as close as you can get to the lifts and summer alpine slide, etc. Would definitely stay here again and tell friends.

The unit is well kept with a beautiful view of the slope.

Enjoyed staying while dropping our daughter at college. Beautiful view from the condo and enjoyed siting on the balcony. Only drawback was a wedding occurred on the mountain and the reception played loud music until nearly 11:00 pm.

Great getaway

Overall this condo had all that we were looking for, nice location, comfortable beds, kitchen stocked with basic essentials to be able to make dinner, access to pool/hot tub to enjoy in the evenings after playing outside during the day. Only complaints were that resort went into off season on the last couple of days so we didn’t anticipate having VERY limited options for food. Also, the patio railing we felt were a little unsafe for our 2 year old but supervised we got to enjoy the cool nights out there. Overall we were happy with our stay and the hosts were very responsive to any questions that came up.

Quick getaway

My wife and 2 teen daughters enjoyed 2 nights here. Plenty of space to relax after hiking. The resort had a lot of activities closed but that has nothing to do with the condo. If everything were open and running this location would have been perfect. Leaky shower which I’m sure will be fixed by now. Great views of the mountain and the rooftop hot tub was a fun change of pace.

Summer in Purgatory

Great corner property, offering fantastic views of the village and mountains and 2 balconies. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. We enjoyed the rooftop hot tub a couple of times. Great property!
