  • Enjoy a peaceful mountain escape from the second floor of this beautifully furnished cabin, where a private deck overlooks the surrounding lake and mountains. Tucked away in a secluded setting just a few miles from Durango, this inviting retreat combines upscale comforts with easy access to year-round outdoor adventures.

    Spend your days exploring Southwest Colorado and return home to a warm and welcoming space. The Colorado Trail trailhead is just one mile away, while Purgatory Resort is within easy reach for skiing and snowboarding in winter and hiking and mountain activities during the warmer months. When you're ready for a night out, Durango's restaurants, shops, and entertainment are only a few miles away.

    Inside, natural light fills the beautifully furnished living room, creating a comfortable place to gather and relax. The magnificent stone hearth is home to a wood-burning fireplace, providing a cozy focal point for chilly evenings after a day in the mountains. Settle in with a favorite book, enjoy a conversation with your guests, or simply take in the peaceful surroundings.

    The full kitchen features high-end appliances and everything you need to prepare meals at home. The dining table seats six, while the breakfast bar provides additional seating for four, making it easy to gather for breakfast, dinner, or a casual meal before heading out for the day.

    The cabin offers two bedrooms and can accommodate up to six guests. Four guests can sleep comfortably in the two bedrooms, while the living room sleeper sofa provides additional sleeping space for two. Thoughtfully furnished throughout, the bedrooms offer a comfortable place to unwind after a day of hiking, skiing, or exploring Durango.

    Step outside onto the deck to enjoy the views of the nearby lake and mountains. It's an ideal spot to start the morning with coffee, relax after an afternoon on the trails, or take in the peaceful mountain scenery at the end of the day.

Lovely property, great location and beautiful views. The house is a cool log cabin. Its decor and linens are pretty tired and could use a refresh, but we were very happy and comfortable.

We had such a great time during Memorial Day weekend. The location is fantastic, and even though Durango is just a few minutes away you would never know it in this peaceful valley. Sitting on the porch with a family, watching the evening sun go down while deer wander across the area, is a perfect way to relax and setting in for a long weekend. I highly recommend the home for short or long stays.

This house and location were absolutely beautiful. Just what we were looking for. Everything was ready and taken care of and the ease of access made it simple. We would definitely stay here again.

Million dollar view! Very glad we found this rental. Only 10 minutes from town. Had everything we needed except we received a message day of check in that the washing machine wasnt working. Other than that, we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed this cabin, the view, and watching the deer and fox from the porch.

The view is beautiful, quiet and comfortable. The kitchen is large and while we didn’t cook it would have accommodated cooking very well. The water pressure for showers was also very good. There is a great wrap around deck with a beautiful view of a private lake.

I am a Durango regular and love this part of town. Hiking and biking nearby and a lovely drive to town. This home had everything we needed and was great for an October week with nice cool nights for sleeping

Our overall impression is, simply, Wow!

Our group of four adults loved this house. It felt like a real vacation for us - only a few miles from town, it is a serene and beautiful retreat. Great view of the lake! The house was very clean and wonderfully designed for easy interactions. Loved it. Will be hard to leave.

Just a few minutes outside of town so it’s easy to get to. The view is spectacular both day and night. Stars and wildlife. Wrap around porch perfect for morning coffee. Very clean and fully stocked kitchen for cooking. Highly recommend.

Outstanding property and hosts!

I can’t say enough great things about this property. Every amenity that you could think of is here. Kitchenwares, spices, sleds, extra blankets, etc., etc. The location is close enough to town that it’s easy to get around but remote enough to feel like you’re “away”. Beautiful views, gorgeous home. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay here again.

Great Cabin!

This place was very comfortable & spacious for me & my family. Quiet & secluded. No noisy hotel room! Beautiful view of the lake. Great windows & wrap around deck. Wonderful fireplace after a fun day of skiing. Close to town for a short drive to get a meal.Great place to stay. Hope to return in summer.

Definitely hope to stay her again

We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely stay here if we are in Durango again. The place is close enough to town to go in and enjoy the area, but it is far out enough to let one enjoy the peace and beauty of the mountains and night skies. The views from the deck are incredible. Deer in the yard each morning. The house is welcoming, very comfortable, and well stocked. Had everything anyone could need.

Amazing Home

My husband and I recently spent a week at this property and absolutely loved our visit. The house is beautiful and outdoor porches have incredible views in all directions. The location was close to Durango but far out enough to enjoy the stars and feel like we were way out of town. When we rented the home we didn't realize the first floor had another rental unit (I may have missed this).

Beautiful views and good location including baby foxes and deer in the yard. Some issues with bugs getting in from lack of seal around portable AC vent and old screens. The furniture and mattresses were worn out. Could have been cleaner, but by no means gross. The sofa, throw pillows, and chairs felt old and not the cleanest. Washer was broken which they knew before we checked in and offered to fix but should have been fixed in advance. Still had some Christmas decor out. Also charged for late check out which felt a bit like a money grab. I like it better dealing with an owner than a company personally. Beautiful property but could be better maintained.

Secluded but Close to Everything

My partner Matthew and I, Joseph, stayed in this home with my sister for an Autumn getaway. We all enjoyed the home very much. We were able to easily cook meals in the very well equipped kitchen, the bedrooms were clean, inviting, and comfortable. The dining area overlooks a lake that sparkles all day long. The decks were peaceful and we almost always saw wildlife while relaxing outdoors. It feels very secluded and peaceful, yet so close to town. Great location. The whole experience start to finish was very nice and we would absolutely stay in this home again.

Beautiful home that needs some attention

The house and property itself is lovely. It is well-equipped and the views are gorgeous. That being said, the maintenance could use some work. The master bathroom shower did not drain well, the ceiling had some little bugs all over it (some dead, some alive), and the guest mattress was awful. It sunk to the middle and needs to be replaced. All that said, the place itself couldn’t be nicer and we would consider staying here again if in the area.

The stars…

Property is great, house was very clean and well maintained except the mattresses are terrible and need to be replaced. The water softener needed maintenance and was constantly beeping. Fixe those two things and you have a wonderful place to stay.
