Island style upstairs/downstairs A/C three large bedrooms, two bath, open space living room, dining room and kitchen with all amenities. A patio and lots of garden space. Secured gated property with flowering plants. The bed rooms are very large and comfortable, suitable for couples or a single family.
For those who must be connected there is WiFi
The interior is adorned with island style pictures on the stairway, inclusive of a hanging quilt made by a Youth Club of young persons from South Eleuthera. Additionally, there are other framed pictures on the walls.
The world famous pink sand beach is five minute walk from the cottage. The cottage is in walking distance to great eateries, in the heart of the settlement and is surrounded by friendly neighbors. The mode of transportation is golf carts or you can simply stroll through the quaint streets. There is easy access to the neighborhood food store. Places of interest include a 250 year old Church and a local historian sharing the history of the island.

Easy, spacious, equipped

We enjoyed our stay at Lou's Cottage. It was very spacious and bedding and bathrooms were very clean. The layout of the house is very comfortable and inviting and the porch and yard were great. We even got some coconut water from the coconuts on the property, courtesy of Phillip, one of the care takers who was so kind. There were ample towels and even some water in thr fridge when we arrived, since the water is not potable on the island. A nice touch. The floors could've used a mopping but all in all the place was clean, spacious, comfortable and affordable for us. It was a great stay and we hope to return the Lou's Cottage. No fuss...just easy island times. Great place, would recommend! Thanks Sharon!

Not clean.

First night possible bed bugs upstairs. Kids woke up with bugs on them. One was bit a few times. Bathroom had mold in shower. Washer did not clean much at all. Floors always got feet black. No cleaning products. No real mop or anything so I could clean it. AC worked well. It was easy check in and out. After a few days the place was decent but not as advertised. No wonder not many pictures of the inside.

Wonderful Accommodations

Lou's Cottage is perfectly located 3 min walk to beach and close to town and fun restaurants! Very relaxing with large living room that comfortably fits several guests.

Very Disappointing

We were locked out of house when we arrived and could not get in for an hour. The house was very dirty including hair and grime in all corners, moldy bathroom curtains and rugs. Dust and dirt throughout, hair in corners of bathroom. Kitchen was filthy with rice on floor and on dining room table. Dirty dishtowel in sink when we arrived. All overhead lights upstairs were not working and no lightbulbs to replace. Ant infestation in kitchen due to food on counters and surfaces. Could not cook or use stove or oven as there was no propane. All batteries in the remotes connected to AC units were dead and no batteries to replace. The AC unit in main bedroom did not work. The WiFi did not work. When we shared our concerns the property manager she and VRBO would only give us a partial refund. We tried to find another house on island, but we were unsuccessful as it was week of Christmas and everything was booked. This was the worst experience I have had when booking through VRBO.

Good value for harbour island

Quaint little house in a good location. Would highly recommend renting a golf cart from Michael’s cycles.. great service:) Little sneaky tip… use your striped blue towel to crash Valentine’s pool or your striped green towel to use the beach chairs at ocean view on the beach, if not you’ll be paying 30$ for rental beach lounger’s from mrs v, which is also a snack bar beside ocean view. Or hang a left outside the house and the beach is about 3-4 hundred feet up the laneway, where you’ll find beach loungers for Valentine’s and Royal palm, pretty much always empty:) The water pressure at the house is sketchy at times as is the hot water. The beds are very hard. But all in all great value for the money:)

Awesome Time at Uncle Lou's

Uncle Lou's is simply PERFECT. The house was great just what we needed and expected. The Location was great - within walking distance of course - to whatever we needed. I Highly recommend Uncle Lou's and will definitely recommend and return.

Sharon was very helpful. The neighbor across the street is part of the support team and ready to help immediate. Air conditioning worked well. Sharon reserved a reliable golf cart for us and the company made a house call to collect the bill saving me having to track them down. All told a very nice few days

Wonderful home with a lot of history and Island Art

This place was very good for our needs. Clean and spacious. Very close to the beach and walking distance to the shops. It was great to be able to shop for what we wanted to eat and prepare it ourslelves instead of eating out. The caretaker Julie was a dream. Always available and very pleasant and helpful. We love the Bahamas and this trip just made us love it more. Our communication with Sharon was GREAT and she was very accommodating. We will do this again.
