Skyline Duluth-Spirit Mountain

This brand new building offers an enormous amount of outside space and privacy nestled in a wooded area. The huge yard gives plenty of outdoor space for kids and adults alike to enjoy the view. Optimal for 1-7 people, for a variety of uses from business travel, to the optimal family vacation with instant access to all of Duluth's attractions and events. For business travel, the building is instantly two units for two people to have private space, or one person with all the amenities!

The space

Skyline Parkway offers the ultimate getaway. This private area can be the ultimate nature retreat for relaxation or a convenient, comfortable, cozy home base for a myriad of activities that our area offers. Bike trails and Spirit Mountain ski and recreation area are literally a stone's throw away. The views of spirit island and overlooking the waters that enter Lake Superior are breath taking.

Guest access

Parties over 2 have access to the whole building. For guests 1-2, the bottom accommodation provides a full apartment!

Interaction with guests

My husband and I live 3 miles from the property and can assist at a moments notice.

Other things to note

We are one property over from the Thompson Hill Rest Area and Travel Information Center. Instant access to I 35 which connects to the heart of Duluth.

Lovely Space and Convenient Location

This space is even better than expected. The furniture has been updated since the photos online. The beds are comfortable and it is nice that there are 2 bathrooms: one upstairs and one the main floor. For those challenged with stairs, the main accommodations and one bedroom with a queen bed are on the main floor with no stairs. Upstairs has a queen bed and 3 twin beds along with a small room with a TV and sofa and a door that closes. The location is very close to access to 35, so it is easy to get to Duluth and close to Spirit Mountain Ski Resort. The hostess was easy to reach via VRBO messaging and she provided a cell phone number if we needed more urgent access. We enjoyed our time in this location and would recommend it.

Duluth Visit

The property was clean and right off the highway for easy access into Duluth. The inside was strange as none of the bedrooms had walls. This would be ok for a scout troop, but if you have a number of couples staying together it might be a surprise. There were just a number of small things that added up, like no Kleenix tissues in bathrooms, wall clock didn't have correct time because batteries weren't changed, TV did not have local channels so weren't able to watch the olympics at night, charged $5 per load to do laundry. Just things we had not run into at other VRBO properties. As stated, the property was clean and the owner responded to inquires like offering to let us do one load of laundry for free, but we just passed on this. Would look for a different property more like a home setting.

Great Location!

Great location for exploring the area! Walmart was able to deliver groceries, and great access to highways. The house was clean and comfortable. There is a window AC unit upstairs and combined with some fans it was a comfortable stay in summer. The downstairs bedroom is not fully enclosed, but offers plenty of privacy when sleeping, there is a door that you can close off from the upstairs bedroom area. It was a nice cabin and we enjoyed our stay!

Girl’s Weekend

This property was perfect for our annual girl’s weekend! It is in a very convenient location with just a short drive to local attractions in Duluth and Superior. It had everything we needed and the hosts were very responsive to questions. We would stay again!

Cousins Ski Trip

My sister-in-law and I got our adult children together with some of our younger children for a ski trip between Christmas and New Year’s. The weather didn’t cooperate as well as we would’ve liked but there were other things to do like rock, climbing, ice-skating, and card games and video games. The cabin was in a good location, easy to find, and not far to from anything fun for the kids. Walmart delivered groceries! My bed was comfortable and no one complained that I know of about sleeping arrangements or hot water! We kept a crockpot of chili going and a few of the kids friends stopped in and said hello, played round of spoons with us, and headed back out to the slopes!

Would Recommend

I stayed at this property with my spouse, 6 month old, and my in-laws while in town for a wedding at Spirit Mountain. The location was great with quick and convenient access many things in Duluth. The space was clean and the checkout process was really simple and straightforward compared to many other short term rentals that we have stayed in. While there are many beds, there aren’t a lot of separate sleeping spaces (three twins and one double are all in one area on the second floor). It worked fine for our group but thought that info would be helpful for others. Hosts were really responsive to messages as needed throughout duration of stay- overall would recommend!

Easy access to Duluth

We stayed here for a weekend and the location was good. You will have some highway noise, but overall it wasn’t very noticeable. The bedrooms are open concept with very little privacy - adding some changing partitions would be nice to have added. Also, not a lot of functionally sized kitchen utensils/pans were available, so bringing your own wouldn’t hurt if you plan to cook & eat on site. Overall the place was clean and worked for our short stay in Duluth.

Comfortable place

We enjoyed out time here. Beds and furniture are comfortable, bathrooms are nice and we had everything we needed. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because there is no privacy for the downstairs bedroom and it is a little noisy in the outdoor areas being adjacent to Hwy. 35. That being said, we would rent here again because overall it was very comfortable.

Perfect Getaway

We stayed at Lisa's house for Christmas and it couldn't have been more perfect! The house is very clean and tidy! Knowing that we were spending Christmas there, Lisa had decorated the house very tastefully and left us a very personal note along with a wonderful gift card to their recommended restaurant! Very thoughtful! Lisa was very quick to respond to any questions and wanted to help whenever possible. It snowed during our stay, and the driveway was immediately shoveled and salted so we had no problem driving in or out. Location of the house is absolutely perfect. Amazing views and very close to the highway for easy access to many Duluth and North Shore Activities. This property definitely exceeded our expectations! Thank you Lisa for a wonderful stay!
