Wonderful visit. Our first to Eleuthera. We went somewhat blind as to what to expect but really enjoyed the island (but see why people say it is not for everyone - thought it may not be for us in the midst of the drive from ELH to the house!!). But far and away the best part was Pura Vida. Perfect location, beautiful house with all the amenities you could want. The pool, the sitting area just above the beach, the privacy - all were much better than imagined and not really done justice in the pics. Ed and Brenda are easy to work with and clearly care to make this a great place to vacation. We already have our reservations for next year!

A Dream come true!

This property is paradise. Kitchen has everything you need. House is beautiful inside & out. Pool, decks, beach views are outstanding. George the Caretaker is a wonderful & helpful man who goes above & beyond in taking care of you. Pam the Property Manager is very professional, personable, & helpful. She makes sure your stay is perfect. I have been a lot of places, but hands down this is the most beautiful, peaceful, and breathtaking house and vacation I have experienced so far.

Honeymoon

There really aren’t words to describe this property. The home is lovely and the owners supplied everything we could have possibly needed. We strolled the beach everyday and came to the conclusion that this home is the best on the beach. We felt like we had the entire beach to ourselves. The views are stunning. It was a fantasy honeymoon!!

Perfect getaway from literally everything

We thought it would be hard to shift gears from the auto pilot of daily life, the pandemic, all of it, but this place sure made short work of that. We spent the fastest 9 days of our lives on some of the most beautiful coastline imaginable.

Thanksgiving at Pura Vida

Thank you for allowing your home to be a part of our Thanksgiving experience. The beach access, amenities in the home, and layout of living space were precisely what the doctor ordered! Whether spending mornings watching the sunrise with a cup of coffee on the screened in deck or taking the kids out to play in the waves with their boogy boards we felt that Eleuthera and Pura Vida in particular was very accommodating. Definitely looking for a return trip and we feel as if we have found the right home to do it in (saying alot as we have been out 6 times to Eleuthera and have only felt this way once). Thank you again!

Restful time

Pura Vida is a wonderful house and we were happy that it was so nice. We knew that we were staying in low season, however, we did not know that VERY few restaurants/bars were open. The beach that Pura Vida is on is beautiful and we spent a lot of time just bobbing around in the surf. Too rough for snorkeling though. We did spend some time looking for good snorkeling spots on the Caribbean side but really never found any that we would consider good snorkeling. Anyway, the house is lovely and we were happy to have it to relax in. Eleuthera for me was a one time deal.

Perfect in every way

Coming to Eleuthera for the second time, we wanted a larger more modern house, and better accommodations , since we were bringing 2 of our children along. When we opened the door , Our adult children voiced their excitement at the beautiful home. After that we knew it was going to be a great week! I am not sure what I can add to all the other great reviews, than to say they were right, it is perfect and we couldn’t have wished for anything more! We had so much fun with our children, swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, playing games, exploring, etc. The list is endless! Thanks Steve and Cindy for allowing us to have our best vacation ever!

Pura Vida will rock your world!!!

This is a beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, wonderful house, thoughtfully filled with lovely tropical art and all the comforts of home including books to read, games to play, cozy places to sit and relax, on the most beautiful beach on the planet. Pura Vida invites you, suavely and with great ingenuity, to "Relax, Unwind, and Totally Enjoy" yourselves. The beds are very comfortable and stocked with an abundance of pillows so that you can truly rest well! Sunrise on the deck with a fresh cup of coffee is worth the trip. Then, it's an easy walk down the steps to the lovely pink sand and delightful salt water for a great swim, even for folks in their golden years. The kitchen is large and very well equipped for those who love to cook. Groceries are available within 15 minutes of the house, both at Midway Cost Cutters and The Farm (which has a very nice rum selection, too!) The owners are wonderful and very responsive. Pura Vida was our first experience with Home Away, and we will definitely be doing this again! You can't go wrong with this vacation home!!! Thank you Steve and Cindy!

Simply Perfection

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pura Vida. The house is lovely: spacious, beautifully furnished, comfortable, well equipped and the setting fabulous. We loved watching the sunrise from the deck, the gardens were beyond beautiful. The location was ideal for touring the island. We saw a lot of Eleuthera, north and south. Enjoyed the beaches, restaurants, and most especially, the people. Would recommend highly.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Pua Vida! We can’t think of a thing it was missing. The beach was fabulous. We kayaked out to the larger island. The kitchen was fabulous as we picked up fresh local fish at the docks. The is a very special place. Comfy beds and beautiful furnishings.

Wonderful place

This was our 3rd time to rent Pura Vida.Our daughter joined us for one of our weeks there and she loved it too.At first there was no WIFI for several days but the caretaker took care of that.All 3 times we were there the phone never worked.This time my new phone allowed me to use WIFi calling and I have a travel plan for $10/day which I used when there was no internet or WIFI.The internet is awesome if you need to stay in touch with your business etc.or do Zoom calls which my husband had to do once or twice.The appliances had all been replaced this time.Everything worked which we haven't seen always in other rentals.The owner is very assessible as well.Can't wait to go back!

Pura Beauty!

Great location and house for 4 people with lots of areas to relax without being on top of one another. The kitchen was well-stocked and the beach accessories were much appreciated. Had a little trouble with TV but problem was addressed promptly, although never solved but not a big deal. Owners were easy to deal with and responsive. Loved the location, unfortunately our weather wasn't great but the house made it easier to handle. Thanks for a great vacation!

Beautiful Home

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Pura Vida! Double Bay is our favorite beach, so it is a treat to stay right on it. The area is secluded and private but conveniently close to groceries and restaurants. The home was ridiculously clean. It was well stocked with towels, toilet paper, tissue, and hand soaps in the bathrooms and kitchen. Our favorite spot was the screened-in patio off the master with the double chaise lounge and spectacular ocean view. It is where we ate lunch every day, and I spent hours reading in there as well. We would definitely stay in this home again!

A Private Paradise

My wife and I enjoyed this place immensely in early September 2018. Hurricane Florence came about as close as 400 miles from what I could tell. It increased the surf at high tide which reshaped the beach and made it more exciting but presented no danger or problems. I really loved the hammock in the middle of the yard and the screened in porch at night. Everything you need is here, just bring some groceries. We enjoyed restaurant 1648 for several dinners, they are very good. Tippy's seemed to be closed for the season along with some other places. I ran on the beach every morning and never saw another person. Only a couple times did I see anyone later in the day. We enjoyed watching the little lizards and other creatures. Mostly we enjoyed the beautiful ocean sounds and views at a very nice private home. Thank you for sharing your place Steve and Cindy. I expect we will be back next year!

The Good Life for sure

Pura Vida has such stunning views, from sunrise to sunset and thru to the starry nights! We had shooting stars just above us one night! This is a beautiful and thoughtfully designed vacation home. Very welcoming with so many great nooks and places to eat, read, or work ( if you must. like I did). Great information on island , amazing book and movie collections. The artwork inside, I believe mostly by the owner, is quite inspiring. Two weeks was not long enough, we did not want to leave. Already planning our return!

Perfect hideaway on Eleuthera island

We had an exceptional 5 days in this beautiful Bahamas house. The location is absolutely stunning (right on the beach) and the house itself is spacious, well maintained and equipped with everything you need.
