"The staff were so friendly, so helpful--ordering us a taxi, explaining about the Oxford Bus to Heathrow, etc. The concept of turning a prison into a hotel--wow! Our room was fabulous. The whole setting and what has been done with this enormous golden stone building is so imaginative and fun. Great location for walking/shopping in Oxford. Close to everything."

"The staff were very welcoming and polite. There is ample parking. We stayed in a suite which was spacious, clean and had good amenities. There is a good sized swimming pool which has allocated children hours. There was a good selection at breakfast and you can also order off a menu too. The restaurant also provided a good selection for dinner. The hotel is in a good location and a short uber ride from Oxford city centre. "

"We stayed at this hotel expecting a true 4-star experience, but unfortunately, it did not meet those standards, especially considering the price of £309 per night. The room lacked basic amenities usually expected in a 4-star hotel, such as bathrobes, slippers, and a coffee machine. The low ceilings made the room feel quite cramped, and the pillows were very uncomfortable. The bathroom design was also not ideal, with a glass bathroom door located right next to the bed, offering very little...

"2nd time I’ve stayed here. Asked them to preserve me breakfast and the staff said they would as I was working lates. I even paid for the breakfast. On both occasions the day staff denied I ever had that conversation with the night shift. Really poor communication and very little compassion. Left feeling scammed out of quite a bit of money."

"Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a good selection of food available at breakfast and it was freshly prepared. The hotel is in a lovely location by Iffley Lock on the Thames. It offers pleasant walks in the meadows and beside the river into Oxford."
