"Great clean hotel"

"The hotel was clearly dated though I had read that the rooms had been updated. I guess we didn't get one of those rooms because ours was really outdated. Tiles in the bathroom were splitting apart at the grout and had black in it. The carpet had stains and burns all over it and was clearly barely attached to the wall. It was clean per day but with all the little corners with black in them it made me a bit uncomfortable. The air conditioning didn't seem to work until it was on for 3 or more...

"The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The room was very comfortable with good air conditioing welcome in the recent heat wave. Ienjoyed walking round the grounds and being able to take a drink out on to the lawn. The surroundings were pleasant."

"Stayed here for one night while on route to Gatwick airport. The place was clean, tidy and comfortable. It is easily accessible by public bus but the hotel does offer pick up and drop off service for an additional cost. The staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating, and there is a beautiful restaurant next to reception where you can grab a tasty Indian! Would recommend staying here and will come again the next time I fly out from Gatwick 😊"

"You get what you pay for. For the price we paid, the guest house served its purpose. The room was fine, but the best bit was proximity to airport- we could easily jump on a bus and be there within 20 minutes."

"Hookwood Lodge is a good place for a quick one night stay as it’s so close to the airport and cheap. Positive, shuttle to airport if needed , inexpensive place to stay, great Pub walking distance with wonderful food. Negative, no where to hang any clothes!,no wardrobe ,bathroom is a complete “ wet room” when taking a shower, no where at all to put toiletries. Very noisy guests which I understand is not the fault of the lodge."
